Anybody got a Carl Torbush location? Just in case we need some analysts?
He brought the ETSU program back to life and then retired in 2017. Pretty sure he is living in North Carolina.
My high school pitching coach was college roommates with Torbush at Carson Newman. They were life long best friends.

One name I'm surprised doesn't get more carry for the Saban coaching rehab clinic is Justin Fuente.
He made pretty good players out of Andy Dalton and Paxton Lynch. And his Virginia Tech stint wasn't nearly has bad as some of the other former head coaches we have brought in.

I'll be shocked if Pruitt is allowed to set foot on campus without clearance from the NCAA.
REC needs to step in.

Was Pruitt previously LB or DB coach at Bama?

The NCAA has no mechanism to block the hire even if we wanted to bring him in to replace Valai. There's no show cause and he hasn't even been formally accused of any rules violations as far as I know.
No, he hasn't been formally accused...yet. Tennessee self-imposed penalties, but they have not received word from the NCAA that those penaltes have been accepted.
From November 4...
"While the NCAA has been heavily involved in Tennessee's internal probe, which was aided by former NCAA investigator Michael Glazier and the Bond, Schoeneck & King law firm, the NCAA has yet to make a final ruling on Tennessee's case and could still levy its own penalties."
That's the latest you'll find on the subject.

Karl Scott not going to UF per Zenitz. Think we are getting him?

Briles would be interesting. Would probably be here for at least two years before bolting for a HC job. Very inventive and up tempo.

It's just speculation on my part. But most of his activity was during December and January and coincided with recruiting trips. OM claims he did it while out of town but I just don't believe it. If all he was doing was fricking some hookers while he was out of town he wouldn't have been fired. And even if was fired for that, he wins big so he definitely wouldn't still be blackballed by every major program in college football 5 years after the fact.

As I recall Nick and Kirby visited Tom after our loss to Urban/Tom in the 2014 playoff game. They wanted to pick his mind on his offense.

Torbush was Fran's DC when I was a student at Alabama and was genuinely a very nice guy in a couple of interactions I had with him.

It's a very interesting theory and makes sense.

Also that Pruitt is coming back not as DC
Do you think Golding would leave knowing that Pruitt was brought in to handle a lot of the defense even as an analyst? He'd have to think Pruitt was brought in to be the DC if cleared by the NCAA.

I would be more concerned about Pruitt as a position coach if I were Golding than as an analyst. That Sand Mountain can come out in him sometimes on the sideline.

I mean, he's a head coach right now, and when did he ever coach Tom Brady?

Nick can get Jim back on the cheap. No sharks in T-Town
Jim McElwain will earn at least $640,900 in his first year as head football coach at Central Michigan University, part of a five-year, $3.4 million deal he signed with the university Monday.
