If you struggle to run the football you’ve got to find a way to manufacture yardage around it. We just don’t have RBs that are healthy enough or that fit this style. It’s as simple as that.

The offense looked strange in the second half.

Probably running late from a ZOOM interview somewhere else.

I don't think Grubb deserves quite the glazing he gets from commentators and the media in general. However, it is hard to tell if the run game problems are with the players, OLC and RBC, or run game coordination/planning.
Where does his fault begin and end on this front? Hard to know in 2025. If it is like this in 2026 then I think you've got to imagine a shakeup happening at OLC. Usually the OLC is responsible for the run game plan and we simply look unprepared in that aspect. We're actually doing a pretty good job of having a suitable protection plan each week. Maybe Kapilovic just isn't the right fit in league with so many dogs on the defensive front. Like he's a guy built for coaching up and planning protections not run blocking plans. Year 3 is the put up or shut up for him to be quite honest.

He deserves more criticism while Womack deserves less
The defense has arguably been the strength of this team this year

We do all kinds of shite to try and run the ball, we play lots of different linemen, and nothing clicks. My feeling is that our OL coach needs to go. We have talented guys up there and clearly they aren’t being coached well.
OL, RB, and S&C coaches all need to go.

Prediction: If we come out and beat the s**t out of Oklahoma next week and Ty looks like a Heisman candidate and we have a bunch of plays that work, people here will be wanting to ride Grubb around Tuscaloosa on a sedan chair.
I've said this before, our fan base can be as bipolar as a teenage girl on the rag as far as "the sky is falling" if we don't dominate every second of every game.
These coaches are not going to line up in the I and hand the ball off to a tailback 40 times a game and have the back and the OL try to punish people's asses and make them quit. Period.
If you research what they did at Washington, the running game is utterly essential to DeBoer and Grubb's stuff working. But it's not an old-school rushing attack. It's not line up and go straight ahead, it's kind of complicated and depends on multiple blocking schemes and quickness and execution.
And we are not going to see it at full efficiency until we get a complete OL roster and a complete roster of RBs suited for what they do.
And the OL coach may be an issue that needs to be visited after the season.

I just don't get Grubb's first down calls. They're killing the offense and putting us in 2nd and long nearly every series.
Jam Miller needs to be benched. Biggest disappointment on the team.
I know the OL hasn't been great, but Miller looks like our worst starting RB since...a long, long time.

Agree on Miller but it ain’t exactly like we have a Bobby Humphrey or a Shaun Alexander hiding on the roster.

Miller looked great v. Vanderbilt and Mizzou. However, he has not looked worth a damn since that hit that knocked him out of the Mizzou game. He was a really decisive runner v. UGA albeit with mostly "on schedule" 3-4 yard runs. He's been dancing around in the backfield too much ever since Mizzou though.

He’s been banged up all season with the collarbone injury and then the concussion. He just hasn't been consistent all year. Maybe we need to acknowledge that LSU has a talented defensive unit who is well coached.

I'd give my left arm to have Jim McElwain at OC. Ya know, where we put the QB under center, our OL put their hand in the dirt and fired out and blew people off the line of scrimmage. Our RBs actually attacked the line instead of passively sitting on their heels waiting for the QB to receive the shotgun snap 4 yds deep.
McElwain ran the pistol a ton so QB was not under center a lot

Maybe I’m wrong but in 2008 we were a mostly under center or gun team. GMac was from an air raid high school offense and I think they felt pistol was a good way to keep him in a comfort zone but still essentially run the under center running schemes.

Odds are that this isn't happening... It'll be a grind like every other game.

That screen pass to Ryan Williams in 4th quarter was straight garbage. Don’t care that it gained 8 yards, just bad football.
