Good: defense, once again, shows they are good. Woodson and Sabb were standouts to me. Womack has this unit looking good. Special mention to Talty. I hate to say anything else on him for fear of jynxing it.
#5 is also a hell of a player.

Agree with this.
Good-Defense is salty. Barring injuries, they're going to get better and better at the year goes on. Hard to have anything negative to say about them. I loved seeing some of the younger guys get some game reps. Wommack is one of the better DCs out there.
Offensive line is and will be better. Getting Michael Carroll back is huge. They're not perfect but they're WAAAAAY better than last year.
KR is learning. He WILL get better and better. He'll learn what he can get away with and what he can't. He'll get a LOT of one on one coaching and game tape review. I'm very optimistic about him. I hope people will have faith in him.
The Bad- I didn't feel like Grubb did a good job preparing the offense for the first half. Kudos to him for making adjustments in the second.
I still don't like all the weird and constant shifts. It's too confusing and puts too much stress on KR. Just line up and run the damn play and shift only unless the defense shows something.
UGLY- I absolutely HATE seeing shotgun formation at the 1-2 yard line. That's just soft football and Alabama has NEVER been about soft football.

No its pretty spot on for some folks here. Anybody not expecting KR to having growing pains, anybody still calling for CKD to be fired, etc. Last week we had posters saying Auburn would beat us.

The weird penalties we got in this game really deserves it's own thread. The Hubbard hand clap? This one pisses me off the most because the no call and KY coach gets it called.

We have a LOT of underclassmen playing significant minutes , especially on the offensive side. There will be some head scratching moments . Might as well get ready for it 
It gets frustrating but I love the fact that this staff doesn’t mind playing the most talented players regardless of age… sets up well for a good core of players for the future

I’m excited about our defense. First time in years I’ve seen a defense bring it like those guys. UK guys were getting hit and hit hard.

and it will raise their NIL at Bama or some other school. This is what has changed college football. In the past we looked as these new guys and felt great about their future at Bama. That is now only wishful thinking.

I do. A lot of kids will stay if they are getting playing time/ have a shot at starting. Not many will ride the bench 2 or 3 years anymore . They are getting to play at one of the top brands in CFB and getting paid to do it. There will always be some who leave for more cash and some are asked to leave. Deboer has actually done a pretty good job of player retention .

We have a goodly number of posters on here who are either very emotionally immature or effeminate. They can’t stay a course in a plan, but rather act out of emotion one way or another based on the results of a play.
We have some very good posters too.

Yep. It’s pussified. And it tells me everything I need to know about this offensive staff.
People look at the final score of this game and think all is well. The current OC is a complete idiot. Horrible play calling and his gimmick plays SUCK and never work. He thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room dialing up these bullshite plays.
Love our defense.
I truly want Kalen DeBoer to be successful but his OC will be his downfall.

I wonder what people thought we were going to get with a guy in his second game. Did people think he was going to come out and be a hof qb from the get go?
The kid is going to struggle thats just part of going with him. It's the OCs job not to put him in a horrible position like he did the 1st drive and subsequent drives after that.

I agree with your good, bad, and ugly. I'll add another section called "horrific" and call out the officiating. Why is it that anytime the SEC brings in a new crew they immediately feel like any play without a flag is a wasted opportunity to insert themselves into the game? Hope we don't see those guys again.

You said it when you mentioned the run game. I thought Grubb had a horrible game plan for a young quarterback making his first SEC start. We should’ve been pounding the rock early and trying to get to 2nd/3rd downs with manageable yardage for him. He basically said here’s the football now go make plays. Looked like BOB calling plays for an experienced Bryce Young. It shows the confidence they have in Keelon, but that’s not fair to put him in those situations early and it’s just not smart football. Especially when we don’t have All American type offensive lineman out there. Let them d-lineman go tackle D Hill a few times and give Keelon some easy throws first. Other than the horrible officiating, the rest of the game went about how I thought it would. If anything, I thought our guys looked way better against decent competition than I thought they would. This team is loaded on defense and I think we’re good enough on offense to cause a lot of problems

We have to survive and win these next two home games. I expect 12 to make some plays for us and them but more for us.
Every team is spending 25 million for players. There are no more UK's and Vandy's or Miss State's.

That MSU game is something to watch. They must beat South Carolina on the road and then Mizzou’s offense looks much improved with Simmons giving them real drop back passing for the first time in years.
They don’t seem bad though and it is a road game before a huge game v. UGA.
But FSU is the next problem and South Carolina has been right on our arse each of the last two seasons.

I know that's a common theme, but it's just not true. IF you watched the game, they showed a replay from behind the offense. When Hubbard clapped, the ref in the very back of the defense threw the flag. The announcers were just too stupid to see it. But you can clearly see the ref throw the flag.
