He missed a lot of reads through the RPO run game (he could have handed it off for a TD in the 3rd?) He missed throws. I mean his issue is a lack of experience. This is a way to gain experience (if he doesn't lose his confidence first. (I don't think he will)).

Yea just can’t fathom people thinking he was going to look like the second coming in his first SEC road game and second game overall

Good
1. Defense could be elite. Thompkins and Woodson were HUGE pickups. Green and Bingley-Jones seem to be paying dividends because it does seem harder to run on us thus far. Defensive talent identification in the portal was on point this offseason.

2. Hill is a much better tailback this year. In 2025, he had this tendency to bounce it outside when he doesn't have speed to the corner. Thus far, he's been far more committed to getting downhill. Some of this may be the OC recognizing he needs to operate between the tackles but it is undeniable that Hill has been coached out of bounce to the C-gap as an immediate response. He's got a decisive cut inside the C-gaps now, better vision, quicker feet.

3. Specialists are shored up for the first time in DeBoer era. Punter has hang-time and/or distance when needed. Kickoffs are basically a touchback unless we don't want it to be. Placekicking has been reliable.

Bad
1. Started another road game flat. It is hard to match the intensity of a team with their home crowd behind them. Most well-coached teams accept that fate, try to weather the storm, and avoid disaster that gets the crowd and opponent even more fired up. That's not our staff's position it seems.

2. Keelon Russell is probably closer to Jalen Hurts than Tua or BY as a first year QB starter. I think he's got a more natural throwing ability than Jalen Hurts but the ability to diagnose a defense and avoid killer turnovers just are not there like it was for Tagovailoa or Young. I think Russell has a higher ceiling as a passer than Hurts but if we're going to be a playoff team it will be like the 2016 unit: defense and special teams lead the way and the offense avoid being a liability. I hope we find that formula before October because Aggy and UGA have defenses that will feast on a young QB.

Ugly
1. Keelon Russell's 2nd INT with an opportunity to take the lead or keep possession before halftime. I'd like to think that he didn't fire it well out of bounds above Brooks because he'd just taken his second intentional grounding penalty. Regardless, he's got to avoid turnovers right before the half that essentially put teams in prime position to potentially add 3-7 points before half. That's criminal QB decision making. His first two turnovers were tough luck, this was on him 100%.

2. Offensive tackles have looked very lackluster in pass protection through two games. I'm genuinely worried about this aspect of our offense if we cannot establish and commit to the run game. These guys flat out can't get a hand on their responsibility far too often. We probably need to be a 2 or 3 TE personnel heavy offense just to junk up things for the EMLOS on the defense.

He's an arse the mods are not controlling. Posters can disagree and not attackor cuss. The solomon guy does both. He went on a drunk rant in middle of the night that never got removed. He thinks everyone who disagrees with him is a troll.

No i think you are a troll. And a lot of others.

Ive been here for a long long time. Long enough to remember when you showed up with your trolling and pretending to be an insider from another board. You are one of the worst trolls on the board. And in the 1% chance you arent a troll, you are just an idiot who knows very little about football.

* I am not a troll and if I was a troll, I'd be very bad one.
* You can barely communicate with others with a cuss filled insult about how much you know or how little you care for their opinion.
* You attack people more on this site than anyone I have seen and apparently are allowed to get away with it.
* When have I ever pretender to be an insider from another board? Now you are just making stuff up.
* I will continue to state my opinion and really don't care what you think of it. Deboer is not a good coach.

Some of us raised a few red flags on KR last week and got told we were wrong.

He needs to do a LOT of growing between now and that Georgia > LSU slate. Texas A&M’s defense will eat him alive

Good: Final score

The Bad: turnovers

The Ugly: The fanbase in the 1st half (myself included).

Woodson and Sabb were standouts to me.

I would say the DLine as a whole looked tough. We, myself included, have given Roach a lot of shite but he has had them ready so far through 2 games. Also, I would add Red Morgan. Every time I saw him during a play he was looked like he was head hunting.

QB play

He had a rough start but the success of the whole offense shouldn’t be placed on Keelon’s shoulders in his second game. Thankfully, they made the adjustment in the second half.

I think Keelon will be fine. We knew there would be some growing pains...and we saw them. Some things made me question his QB coaching though...like repeated grounding penalties. We can't have our QB putting us in first and 20 situations.

But the biggest problem is that the game was being called like KR is a 3 year veteran starter. 3rd and 22, I think, on your own goal line...with a young QB making his first road start...you handoff and punt. That screen wasn't getting 22 yards anyway...why even put the ball in the air? Just stupid.

The defense is obviously the strength of this team. It looks really good. Run defense will get tested against FSU this weekend.

Chad from DeBoer’s comments after the game … how much freedom do you think Keelon has in the RPO and based on what you said about calling the game like he was a third-year starter is it wise for him to have that much freedom at this point in time regardless of his skills and potential?

DeBoer seemed to be reinforcing that the run was open in the first half too and while he didn’t exactly call Keelon out at least to my ears, he kind of stressed that it’s OK for the QB in a RPO to hand the ball off.

I didn't see CKD's post-game comments...but I do think the philosophy is to kinda throw KR in there in a trial by fire mentality instead of protecting him. That may be fine and fast track his development, but it doesn't excuse bad situational playcalling...like on 3rd and 22 from your own goaline.

I'm a little worried about the FSU running game testing our def front 7 depth on yet another hot September daytime kickoff this weekend.

We need to give the PUNTER a big shout out. Not many punts in two games but averaging 50+. When is the last time Bama had a punter averaging over 50.

Grubb needs to quit being so cute and simplify things to help his young QB. As the game slows for him do more, and for god's sake get the plays in.

I could be wrong as two left shoes but I will be shocked if FSU or many teams line up and knock us off the ball in the run game … KY has decent backs ( not as big as the FSU guy) but man the front seven look very physical through the first two games
