Good, bad, ugly from Kentucky game

Good: defense, once again, shows they are good. Woodson and Sabb were standouts to me. Womack has this unit looking good. Special mention to Talty. I hate to say anything else on him for fear of jynxing it.
Bad: QB play. KR is not making good decisions under pressure. I know..it's his second game.... For the hype given him, we expected better. At present, he's not looking like a 5 star+. But he can get better with some coaching. He's shown flashes of brilliance.
Ugly: Grubb is proving to be a bad OC choice. In comparison to the defense, his unit looks uncoached, sloppy, and unprepared. Not to mention issues with getting plays (and players) in the game. His play calling feeks like he's blindly pulling plays from a hat. That is on him. It's too funny that the unit got better once they lost comms with the coach in the 3rd quarter.

What are you, 14 years old? You seem angry. Hormones can do that to a young body.

isnt that what forums are for is open communication of thoughts and ideas. This team would have had a hard time coming back if that had been UGA or LSU.

I am angry about all the trolls on this board and the dumbasses in our fanbase.
I dont know that you are one of the trolls but you still sound like a whiny woman. I will play along just to appease your feminine sensibilities.
The Good: 2nd half
The Bad: 1st half
The Ugly: the fans. Sidewalkers need to get fitted for their UT gear. And the rest of you chicken littles need to get a grip.

You can’t fault KR for struggling and in the same post shite on Grubb. Blame either one or the other. I’m blaming Grubb.

Keelon is young and learning. Just gotta have patience because you see the glimpses of what makes him special
The big takeaway for me is how much of an upgrade Woodson and Metz are at linebacker. No disrespect to Lawson and Jefferson, but these boys are just flat out better and I’m not sure it’s even close

The MLB's and DT's are huge upgrades from last year.

Jarrett Johnson looks like he can still play.

Good: Defense has the chance to be elite if they can stay healthy.
LB play. Metz and Woodson are thumpers. Great to see great fundamental tackling at the LB position again. They get their hands on you, you're going to the ground.
DB play is special. Great to see Edwards get in. He has a knack of just being where the ball is.
DL is flat nasty.
Hill/Crowell/Brown can get the job done. Hill is finally running like a 230# back. Crowell when completely 100% and learns the blocking packages will be special. Brown has great vision and shiftiness.
Good day for RW and Scott. Still has a tendancy to jump when he doesn't have to.
Talty. Bruh finally figured it out.
Another good is they just kept fighting despite playing the worst half of football since the FSU game last year. Kentucky is mediocre at best. Play to the standard.
Bad:
Pre-snap bullshite. Simply put, there's WAAAAAAAY too much shifting and late substituting going on. We cannot even do the simple shite like get lined up on time with the right personnel on the field. You have a QB only in his second start. Get the best 11 players on the field, line up and play fricking football. This is 100% on the offensive coaching staff.
Finally getting the play in with 5 seconds on the clock and shifting 1/4 of th e players on the field with 5 seconds on the clock does NOTHING but create a sense of panic and hurry on the players, this leads to half of our offensive penalties.
SIMPLIFY THE DAMN OFFENSE UNTIL KR figures it out.
Play calling. Grubb tries to get too cute, especially on 3rd and 4th and short. This issue is compounded by the previously mentioned pre snap nonsense. You have a 230# running back and MULTIPLE TEs that are great blockers. When you need 2 yds line up and run the fricking football instead of trying some late shift jet sweep that hasn't worked at the University of Alabama since Marquiz fricking Maze was running it.
OL. Yes, I know we were down two starters but we're still getting too many wiffs on blocking. This is being compounded by the late shifting.
Delgatty gets a demerit for the shite on the first 2 point conversion. They knew they were going to go for two on the play before they scored. Have your arse where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there.
Officiating. I've never seen a more concerted effort to disrupt the flow of the game when momemtum was shifting in 56 years of watching football.
The TD that was called back was damn sure NOT beyond a reasonable doubt. Defensive holding on a clear running playl??? Bitch please. And, how the frick do you call ineligible receiver downfield when the offense is on the damn 5 yard line???
That crew needs to stick to high school football.
Over-all a B- effort.

This is a message board. And this is a very common post game subject to discuss.

They get 3 yds in CFB
2yds in HS
1 yd in NFL
I am one of those lowly HS FB officials

Regardless of whether I agree with their takes, I like seeing post game (during game is a mess I agree) discussions. It’s why I come to a message board

I blame both.
For one Grubb didn't help him with playcalling and made a first time starter away from home go through a baptism of fire.
Someone posted a video of Kentucky podcasters talking about how some of the best QB in SEC history had horrible first away starts. Grubb should have altered his calls to lesson the exposure instead of just rolling him out front.
With that said re-watch some of those plays. KR got shocked and then would stop reading and lock on to a side. On that INT late in the 2nd, he missed an open one-on-one up the seam to his left. He missed other throws as well because he seemed very much impacted and rattled.
We don't need that guy. We need the guy we were promised, who makes and knows checks before the snap, reads under pressure and of course has that insane arm.

People before the season were comparing him to Jayden Daniels and I still agree.
Ill just say what I see right now is Arizona State era Jayden Daniels, not LSU Jayden Daniels.
He's got a ways to go from a processing standpoint, but the ceiling might be higher than anyone we've had due to the combination of the arm talent and mobility.
BY and Tua were probably better at this point as pure passers, but they couldnt run like this.

That #7 literally took over a part of the second half. So did Devan Tompkins.
They did an incredible job there scouting those guys and securing them.
Now our Center #55, he has disappointed

One more thing Meeeetz and I was very impressed with Pritchard's blocking and toughness

He missed a lot of reads through the RPO run game (he could have handed it off for a TD in the 3rd?) He missed throws.
I mean his issue is a lack of experience. This is a way to gain experience (if he doesn't lose his confidence first. (I don't think he will)).
