Gonna be an interesting offseason

1. Don’t know if we get coach poached after how bad we looked at times this season. Is it possible Saban pulls the trigger on a new OC?
2. Do a few dominoes start falling with transfers heading out and borderline guys going pro?
3. What do we end up bringing back next season? Who do we really want to bring back next season?
4. I know we’re losing a lot to the pros on defense, but will we look closer to the same on offense? Is there a chance for a real QB battle?
This is now Coach Saban’s longest streak at Bama without a championship and Kirby looks poised for another run next season. Interesting times in Tuscaloosa.

Fewer than 48 hours remaining until the sunshine pumpers will themselves to a board-takeover. Nothing will change and we'll all just be expected to pretend it's the greatest thing ever- we've seen this movie before

1. Anyone nervous that there won’t be a QB battle is a mouth breathing retard.
2. Yes there will be transfers.
What the frick are you observing to be higher on Kirby and Georgia than Alabama moving forward and more specifically next year?

I seriously doubt we replace Rees unless he willingly goes somewhere else.
We have alot of people leaving but we also have a lot of young guys that have played significant roles. We really need a QB that can read a defense, process quickly and can move the chains more than an athletic QB.
There needs to be a legit QB battle.

Nick is FEROCIOUSLY loyal to upper class men. Unless Milroe is hurt, there is ZERO chance someone replaces him. Not saying I like it but it’s not my call (obviously).

I think Milroe deserves some blame but Alabama's offensive problems were beyond QB.
OL play has been bad for three seasons now. It directly cost Alabama two playoff games (one was the title game). Wolford just completed his 2nd season and we're no better off now than at the end of 2021. There needs to be a reckoning here. Evals have been missed in recruiting (some of that is Marrone). We have lost several players to the portal pretty early in their eligibility. This makes me think he's not connecting with these players well and doesn't have their confidence.
WR group has a problem with early separation. We were spoiled by the run in 2017-2019 at WR but there isn't even one guy like Metchie, Smitty, or Juedy on this roster who can get open early. This means our offense has to rely on longer developing routes that allow the WRs to separate with pure speed advantages late.
Tailbacks are simply not playmakers and they don't really differ in styles at all. This group did not make a big impact at all this year nor last year. Gibbs was dynamic but was often unable to make an influence in games. The 2023 team, especially, was the kind of squad that needed a tailback or two who could reliably eat up carries but that back did not exist.
Alabama has missed on or lost the confidence of a lot of skill talent over the last few years. Look how many guys are playing on other teams after transferring. Not that I think guys like Holden, Baker, or Leary were our missing pieces. We have a deficiency in skill players. You could not expect to have that 2017-2021 run forever but this unit is more like 2011 without TRich and Lacy.

Nothing will change
Most teams don’t even REACH the playoffs. Losing it sucks, but shite… Alabama made it there along with only 3 other teams.

Disagree about RBs. It’s plain as day that Jam Miller and Justice Haynes are our best RBs. However, as I’ve said, Saint Nick is loyal to a fault to upper class men starters even if a younger player is clearly better.

The Bama Sunshine Club will take a couple weeks off.

Offensive line got better with Roberts in. I expect Bama to be a very good line in 2024.

Replacing center and right tackle (Latham likely going pro). I like the guards but I'm not sold on Proctor at LT. Alabama has started a few freshmen at LT in the past and Proctor definitely performed the worst. He's not fast enough on his feet. Frankly, I think he's likely only to flourish at guard (in college or pros) or RT (in college only). The problem is that I'm not confident Alabama has a sure thing starter at RT (if Proctor doesn't move) so I'm sure as hell not confident there is an other LT on the roster right now.
So I'm not particularly confident this is definitely going to be a good unit in 2024. Brockmeyer is probably the starter at center. Pritchett has off-the-field distractions right when he needs to be grinding to shore up his position battle at LT or RT. Alabama needs an immediate impact tackle out of the portal.

Sorry but that’s not what you asked. Jalen Hurts started every game in 2017 and Saban replaced him in 2018…

We were better this season than last season with a new DC and OC, so I expect to see more improvement. Bunch of doom and gloom around here after last night, but I am pretty optimistic about next season.

What makes you think Kirby is any more likely to beat Saban next year then he was this year?

If your qb can't throw a swing pass or pick up the hot route on a blitz, it makes your o-line look worse than they are. Two teams made Milroe beat them with his arm. BAMA lost both of those games. QBs have to be able to beat the blitz. Did you watch Penix carve Texas up last night? It wasn't because his o-line is better than BAMA's. Penix was throwing lasers and making plays with his legs when he needed it. Milroe can't beat the blitz because he doesn't know when to run, and he can't make throws that require him anticipating the receiver to come open. BAMA receivers have to be looking at Milroe or 2 steps behind the defender before Milroe will even throw it.
Texas couldn't bring extra pass rushers vs Penix all night like they did against Milroe, because he would just flood the defense with slants and mesh routes and torch them. Milroe can't throw these passes. Texas had to play zone and Penix carved that shite up.
Edit: The only player Wash has that is better than BAMA is qb, center, and perhaps WR1. Odunze is a stud. But we don't know what BAMA had because its qb play was abysmal. Niblack should be a fricking problem for defenses like Kyle Pitts. Kendrick Law should be a fricking problem. Bond won the 100 and 200m sprints in Georgia in highschool. He also has HANDS. He should be a fricking problem.
Problem is... BAMA has Milroe.

I assume he's basing that on Georgia winning two of the last three titles and returning much of the roster from what looked like the best team in the country this bowl season.
