This team is probably Saban’s last best shot at a championship. He has the players in place and a top shelf QB, but they are being directed by yard sale leftover coordinators.

How did Saban end up with these 2 as the best options?

Pete has been fine. Shutout in week 1 and held one of the top 3 offensive minds in the college game on the road in Sark and Texas to 19 points. Gotta clean up the penalties, but the defense has been about where we should expect them to be early in the season. Good, with room to improve.

BOB, on the other hand, has been a dumpster fire since the moment he got here. The guy has zero creativity, and is still running a 2012 NFL style offense. The game has passed him by. He has truly been terrible in every imaginable sense. I hope Saban has some other offensive minds on staff he can bring into the game planning process and maybe even play calling because BOB could cost us a natty this season all by himself.

Im way more fine with Pete vs Bob. One thing I can say about Pete is that Defense gets much better as season progresses where as Bob its the same generic bullshite all year

Nearly every year we hear the sky is falling, at least some point in the season.

Alabama will probably play in the SEC title game snd playoffs yet again.

Nothing is going to change with either of them, unfortunately. Right now, BOB is the worse of the two. I don't expect him to get drastically better as the season progresses, unfortunately.

If neither get hired for other jobs after this season, we'll get to deal with them next year, because Saban apparently wants to avoid coordinator turnover at all costs.

At least Golding is fairly aggressive. BoB is just a statue of an OC and it shows against good defenses. He has a whole arse gold mine of offensive talent and it looks like a McElwain offense.

I'm calling it now... coach Boob offense will finally catch up to us this year and we won't the SEC because of it. In fact, we might even lose a game to one of Arkansas, Ole Miss, or Tennessee because of the offense.

I doubt we win another SEC game with these coordinators. Hell have you seen Miss State with their senior QB, Kiffin is probably talking to Sark about how to light us up, may get by Auburn at home but all of the others!

shite, we’ve got to play Texas next year. Without Bryce we’ll lose by twenty. Then at Wisconsin in 24, they’ll surely have a great team and it’ll be a blizzard in September.

X1000

BoB sucks. Calls like an NFL coord going against relative parity week to week. He has talent mismatches all over the field and fails to scheme to exploit them.

I'd like to think this is tongue in cheek, but I fear it is hyperbolic overreaction and melty

There isn’t much Bill can do with this team.

There is 0 explosiveness with the WR’s. Not 1 elite guy.

That’s what scheming is for. Which BOB doesn’t do.

He does not scheme like a COLLEGE football coach looking for advantages to exploit.

Sark was a superb CFB OC and an avg to poor NfL one.

Why?

Because Sark thinks like a CFB coach.

The parity of the NFL is HIGH. You take less risks and play the percentages to hope to get an advantage.

The same is not true for CFB for both a talent and experience reason. You play to the opponent. You scheme for the opponent. You find the talent mismatch or talent induced defensive play calling tendency mismatches and exploit them

Sark and Kiff were brilliant about making the attack fit the opponent.

BoB looks like a guy playing 18 holes with a driver, a 7 iron, and a putter.

These people don't understand you don't need every WR to be a first or second rounder to set them up for success.

I mean damn they really don't get the concept of a gameplan where you protect against your OL weakness with quick passing or moving the pocket. You then can take deep shots to keep their safeties from moving to far up.

We have a lot of speed at WR. We have a lot of talent.

This reminds me about how people said Jamo wasn't that special at the beginning of the season. Well he didn't look special because his OC. When he settled and Bryce realized he could just heave deep balls to him, he looked like a top-10 pick.

Pete's fine. As long as he lays off the hour-long delayed blitzes, we're solid.
