You can’t worry about who leaves, bring in the best and let them compete. That’s what we’ve done with guys like Jamo, Gibbs and Henry T. Worked out fine and anyone that left wasn’t good enough anyway.
All those people you listed were filling holes where we were thin or had people coming off injury. You hit the portal every season like you are suggesting it will begin to impact recruiting and the locker room.
In the end you are trying to build a team and a program, not just have 22 mercenaries on a 12 month contract.

Bama should have offered AL native Riley Leonard. The guy is leading Duke to one of their best seasons in years...and had Duke almost upset UN and Maye. But he's truly a dual threat QB...our offense really doesn't run the QB.
But I'm hoping Ty is ready to step up and take over the team.

We are in the NIL era now. If you aren’t recruiting every available player that can improve your team by at least offering them more money, then you aren’t doing it right. I hate it, but that’s the game right now.
Realize he plays in the ACC, but Maye’s numbers are eye popping.
ETA: You are especially stupid if you’re not contacting players through the Transfer Portal that you recruited out of HS that showed considerable interest at the time.

I'm not sure how anyone can watch Milroe play QB right now and feel like he's even close to ready. He MIGHT be ready with another couple of years of major development. But he looked as bad as a passer out there as I've seen since Spencer Pennington. Right now, it's Simpson or bust in '23 unless we hit the portal.
exactly that

This year just goes to show how quickly a team can take a down turn with just a few bad decisions.
is it even a little bit possible that you can just discuss a topic without trolling ?

I'm very curious about Shocco. The account was created on 11/8/2015 but they didn't start posting until 9/12/22 when they joined the Bama board. Now they're averaging almost 12 posts a day?

And why the thread is stupid as Maye is not in the transfer portal and will not be.
The kid might get an invite for the Heisman ceremony this year and next year will probably be the front runner going into the season. He has UNC on the cusp of winning the ACC and likely heading to a NY6 bowl in a rebuilding year as a RS Freshman. Why would he want to go anywhere else?

Maybe because he wants to win it all? Plus there’s more $$ opportunities being a bama QB which comes along with being a prime time or featured game on a near weekly basis. UNC is a basketball school at the end of the day

Have you watched the Bill O'Brien offense the last 2 years? And seen our o-line and wide receivers this year? Pretty sure Maye will take what he has in North Carolina. He seems to be doing pretty well.

Some of you need take the crimson googles off and accept reality. He spurned us already and seems to be in a great place.
UNC has a chance to still make the playoffs, not UA. We currently have the reigning Heisman QB and he has yet to win a title.
And if you think a NC resident in the Heisman race at UNC is not garnering NIL money in his home state you are a fool. There is a difference between reality and fantasy.

For the record he is being represented by Creative Artist Agency to handle his NIL representation and dealings. The same CAA who represents Young and are one of the top in the industry. I would wager they would not be representing him if they did not think who could score big with NIL while at UNC. He recently linked a deal with Jordan Brand.

UNC is probably the biggest cash cow in retail athletics apparel. UNC isn't a football powerhouse but they have everything else including big money.

Message board rumor that Alabama is looking to bring UNC OC, Longo, and Maye may (hehe) come with him.

You might want to keep away from the sunshine pumpers. The word around campus is he wants to be a HC and UNCC is trying to get him there.
Posted on 11/17/22 at 1:03 pm to TideWarrior
UNCC has hired Biff Poggi. Poggi was the St. Francis of Baltimore coach that sent some kids to Bama.

That was word last week when I was on campus but I do not listen or watch any sports news out there and was out of town for several days. UNC does feel if the right HC job comes up he will take it but doubt he would make a lateral move especially considering he is in a great situation right now for an OC.

What rumor? He is not going anywhere. The family, except for one brother, all attended UNC and his one brother is there now as well. The family are boosters and unless Brown leaves along with the program falling off, which both are unlikely while he is there, he will stay at UNC.
Would you rather stay at the family university or go somewhere that might greatly improve your draft stock in making a name and millions for yourself?
I’m not saying what this kid is going to do and don’t really give a shite. But if it were me and Bama provided a better situation, I’m gone. There’s no loyalty in sports.

Spoiler: Transferring here won’t impact his already sky-high draft stock
Y’all need to let this thread die. It’s not happening and everything out there on the kid such as flipping to UNC, UNC’s NIL opportunities (Jordan), and his background being UNC related is an obvious non starter.

^^^Exactly this
Between his Dad, brother Luke and brother Beau who’s a junior on the bball team, the ties are too deep. NIL money will go up next year, nowhere near what some could offer but still a decent amount and most importantly his draft stock is already high.
He ain’t leaving UNC for Bama or any other school.
