I am intrigued by the best loss argument. Bama to Texas vs Texas to Oklahoma. Haven’t heard it mentioned at all in media discussions.

Because it doesn’t matter since Texas has a head-to-head win over Bama.

True enough. In a year like this, it doesn’t matter if you improve. Lose and the season is done.

Yup, just a weird year. The worst opponent we could have lost to was Texas based on how everything played out.

If it's best 4 teams, yes.

If it's undefeated conference champs and head to head matters, no.

I don’t think Bama gets in and this will just further push/justify people’s need for a larger playoff.

Really don’t give a damn though. Beating that Dawg arse and denying the three peat was sweet enough. Especially living in Atlanta.

I hope this is just wrong thinking but we'll know shortly.

Personally, I don't think the SEC champ gets left out. The committee all became Louisville fans last night, until that easy out died.

They've done this to themselves and I don't feel sorry at all.

My prediction has been...

1 - Michigan
2 - Washington
3 - Texas
4 - Alabama

Regardless, Let's celebrate what the team has accomplished.

I wouldn't even play Louisville. They are a shite team. What purpose would it serve? They don't belong in any championship or bowl game.

I am in agreement.

We will see Texas & Bama in a rematch for the natty.

Getting matched with Louisville would be a bigger disrespect than getting left out of the CFP

I'm with you. I can deal with being left out, but it sucks that the consolation prize is playing Louisville with one of the worst QBs in the Power 5.

What year was it that Alabama got in to the final four so controversially?

The thing that strikes me as funny is we rolled the competition that year, winning the championship, and some people still thought Alabama should not have been included.

Insane thinking from many Bama detractors that year.

I think odds are against us, but not letting that dampen the successes of this season.

Part of me thinks we get left out, but I cannot imagine a scenario where the SEC isn't in the CFP.

Are you talking about the odds to win the NC? Because Vegas is basing those on not knowing who is in yet. If we get in, those odds will skyrocket.

My gut says no. Committee will establish that the goal isn't really to put the 4 best teams in but they’ll be okay with that because of the playoff expansion coming next season.

No, but this is a rare year that I would be at peace with that.

I do not, unfortunately. It’s been my position for a month that we needed FSU or Texas to lose and it never happened.
