But sure, let's hire Sark because he'd definitely take this team (which has been showing cracks for three years now) and win 56-0 each week... source: trust me.

This is a great point as well. After 2020 there were cracks in the foundation that Saban tried to patch as best he could. Teams with the talent level that Bama has shouldn't be struggling so much against inferior teams or having to scrap together 2nd half comebacks way too regularly. You can make an argument if it wasn't for Bryce Young it would've been way uglier as well. in 2021 and 2022. DeBoer now inherits all of this. It's going to take some time.

I’m starting to ask “how did he beat those teams with superior talent” at Washington and Fresno. His culture is questionable and he has taken a top 3 team in terms of talent and destroyed it in less than a year.

The QB, locker room, bad habits that were on display the last couple years, a fan base with HIGH expectations. Yes, he will need a minute to make this his team.

Nick Saban anecdote from after the loss in the ULM game in 2007:

"On Monday, Saban shared a humorous story from the time shortly after the loss to the Warhawks. Saban was at a gas station when an attendant asked about his ring. “Well, it’s a national championship ring from LSU,” Saban quipped. “We’re gonna do the same thing at Alabama.” “The guys said, ‘we’ll never do it as long as that Nick Saban is the coach.’”

If he wasn't 63 years old, Curt Cignetti would have been my first choice.

Dude has won everywhere he has been as a HC, since he left Bama as the WR coach in 2011.

He hasn't had a losing season. He went 6-5 once at IUP and once at Elon.

Helped James Madison to the Sunbelt conference and currently is 6-0 at Indiana.

Dude can coach and win.

Agree. IMHO it's discipline. He is playing with different type players here than he did at Washington. They are use to discipline. Bama spends too much time trash talking, Dancing after scores, penalties. Saban knew what he was doing when he got out. If he thought he could win a NC with these guys he would be here. NIL and Transfer portal is the destruction of football as we knew it. Money if now that factor. Sell out to the highest bidder.

UF should have beaten 10rc last night. Totally blew that game.

Agree…and think Napier should’ve still went for two, even after Tenn called the timeout. No better chance to win the game than that…

My complaint is that I don’t see progress

If you can't see progress on the defense from Vandy to usc it's becsuse you don't want to.

He needs time. He’s following the GOAT and he’s expected to not miss a beat. What Saban did will not be repeated anywhere.

The Bammer segment (starting to think the majority) of our fan base have no place for something so obviously reasonable as this.

Without a doubt, there are problems. Either it’s the that the coaching is not sec-caliber, or the players won’t accept coaching.

If it’s the former, Db will make changes at year’s end or he’s gone in 3 or 2. If it’s the players, a purge will be required to rid the program of their infection. Folks will figure it out before too long, and you will see it shake out in support until remedy is put in place.

The Alabama coaching staff, including DeBoer, has been thoroughly outcoached the last ten quarters, especially in the area of in-game adjustments.

When Alabama is getting outcoached by Clark Lea, Shane Beamer, and Mike fricking Shula, for frick's sake, it's time to start asking some serious questions.

Some on here will never admit that maybe the culture and locker room wasn't in such good shape when Saban decided very surprisingly to dip out in February.

Some of this was already showing through before Saban left. I'm not saying Saban would've lost to Vandy or anything, but perhaps the Ferrari everybody thought DeBoer was inheriting had an oil leak.

DeBoer will never have nor will he recruit a qb like Milroe again. That tells me all I need to know. I never see him changing protections or changing the play at the line. He can't read the RPO for shite.

He's a great athlete. He might be the best qb we have. But what does that say about what Saban recruited the last 2-3 years? I know he got Sayin, but he hasn't played a meaningful down in college.

Holstein looks pretty good. Couldn't even get on the field for BAMA. Would I rather have Holstein than Milroe? Idk. Holstein can at least see a LBer lineup over B gap and call a hot slant and hit it.
