What a bitch look… and I thought Shula’s nail biting and staring at the Jumbotron was bad…

He is here for a while that's for sure. My primary issue yesterday was offensive play calls. We came in knowing UT's D was solid, we came in knowing our OL was a mess and we did nothing from a call standpoint to give ourselves even a sliver of a chance. I don't want DeBoer gone, I want Grubbs to get his shite together or gtfo. We've seen no sign of him getting it together so that leaves option B.
One other thing is pretty clear at this point, I have yet to see any of the teams with so-called unlimited budgets win a damned thing.

I am not convinced of this !! Anything is possible ! Do you really think that the people who count are just gonna let Bama wither away. If Deboer has a 4 or 5 losing season this year and it kinda goes the same next year. The unofficial search behind the scenes will begin... it may have already begun. Dont be fooled by Bama dosent have the money. The University of Alabama leads or is close to the top of college sports programs in merchandise licensing revenue and sales...not mention rich azz boosters. There is no way Bama is powerless and can't just do what they want like Texas or Ohio St. Bama will not just be left to wither on the vine. And become an Arkansas or Miss St. How come people are thinking this way ?

3 years ago, no brainer that he comes... Now, I just think the landscape has changed too much. Indiana is spending like crazy and they have a billionaire or two. It is an absolute requirement that you have a huge NIL budget in order to win championships now. Football is expensive as hell because of the numbers. Depth and experience wins championships now and this year and last year have proven that we get very beatable once the injuries kick in (and that is applicable to about 95 percent of college football right now).

Our GM publicly said the narrative that Bama is poor is false, so yes, we do have the money.

We are not destitute but if you think we are shooting as big a stick as some other programs you are painfully naive. For instance there is no way, zero way, we could win a bidding war with Indiana for Cignetti.

Why would you think a school like Alabama couldn't match one like Indiana.. not saying I want Cignetti but Indiana football comes from the desert of unsuccessful football programs... one of the worse in the nation except for the last two years. Bama could match anyone and there are those who count that will demand changes and it will happen

Indiana has the most living alumni than any school in the country. They have over 500,000. Alabama comes in at around 25th with 200,000. Just by sheer numbers they are bound to have way more wealthy alumni

I'd love to hear this list.
Definitely not giving Deboer and staff a pass but there's simply not a list of coaches without similar inconsistencies if you drop the recency bias of one season.
Just look at how different the lists people post of replacement candidates are every half season.

Figuring out the replacement isn’t the fans job. Firing isn’t either. However it is easy to observe that Alabama is downwardly mobile with this staff. They’ve had more red flag losses than Mike Shula in one fewer year.

He’s here to stay because this is the NFL light and losses and looking like shite from time to time is inevitable.
We have no depth.
Nobody has depth like they used to.
I was told before the season that if anybody on the line went down we were fricked and that’s exactly what happened yesterday.
That being said, we can do better than Grubb.

Yes.. maybe.. but take in the last 20 years of winning seasons.. 7 national championships..even more conference championships. Indiana is not matching all rhe revenue from merchandising and such and all the money from the exposure. Alabama made themselves a household name.. Thats definitely not Indiana and theres not matching money from that perspective...plus ..yes we have a ton of rich boosters as well

I think you are right. He needs to reinvent himself. Can he do that? The physical part of football is not in his DNA, as it was in Alabama's successful head coaches. Leading that list of course is Saban and Bryant. I wonder to start with if his practices are not physical enough. Really don't know but there is a disconnect about what he says about how they practice and how they play. I remember Bryant saying you work hard all week and have fun on Saturday.

This isn’t the height of the Saban era, we’re old news outside the state. And our alumni are all old money. New money rules the world today.

They have two very specific alumni that basically can swallow up most of our entire alumni base with a stroke of a check and with the right incentive, they probably will.

Alabama is new money as well. Its what Im trying to say in a certain way out of many. Alabama is a household name.. Bama still hold the only current Dynasty in college football. Saban is a weekly advertisement for the namesake of Bama every week on the most popular sports show on Saturdays. Bama leads or is near the top of all college sports programs in merchandise licensing revenue and sales for the last almost 20 years. There's A LOT of money flowing through the coffers at Bama from just all of that. No other college has had that kind of exposure and success. And yes Bama has a ton of rich boosters just like the other big boys.. In fact Bama is one of the big boys. This is exactly why I say Bama is not gonna be allowed to wither on the vine and become another A

I often wonder that as well about the disconnect. Champions are made in the winter, spring and summer tho. If Deboer wants to remain as head coach at Alabama and be successful, he will have to reinvent himself. His offense doesn't work here.
