I meant interesting in that the staffs will be very familiar with one another...and if bridges were indeed burned, might be a bit awkward as well...

Is Lupoi a done deal?

From the novel that was posted from the Texas 247 site, apparently Lupoi wants a Co-DC title, and the only way that Texas would be willing to do that is if they strike out on a couple of their other DC candidates.

Sorry, but trying to keep positive through my own dumb humor. I am actually excited about the turnover to some degree, as odd as it sounds.

This year may have been the crescendo of the Saban era. I've never seen a team play so selflessly and truly love to play together. Coaching, relationships and development had a huge part in that. More titles will come with Saban at Bama, but i don't think they trump this year.

The danger on the backend of such success is overconfidence and things getting stale. Plus, these guys can only coach so long under Saban, the grind has to be unreal. So, new hires bring new energy, and it lets the next group of young superstars start building their legacies under other top shelf coaches and staff.

Early signing period also helps soften the blow of coaching losses; best change in recruiting ever.

Texas would be stupid not to give Tosh what he wants.

I have no clue but I'm assuming money. I'm guessing for some group of five and lower subdivision schools that would be a pretty penny.

That's it.

frick it. Let's hire Freddie Kitchens as QB/OC and DeMeco Ryans as LB/DC.

We can outbid the 49ers for DeMeco.

It should be released today, but Saban is expected to take the DB’s coach spot at the Jaguars. Golding will be named HC.

Why? Tosh is an excellent recruiter but he's a terrible defensive coordinator. There's a reason Saban helped him get a job with the Browns. I mean defensive line coach for the Browns wasn't exactly a step up from defensive coordinator for Bama. It was a lateral move at best.

It’s weird that Clemson didn’t go through this.

For the most part people are simply not interested in their coaches for better jobs. Venables, who's overrated, yes, but he has not wanted to leave, though I'm not even sure what HC openings have been interested in him.

The vast majority of Bama's losses have been for upward mobility because Alabama's coaches are seen as being the best and other programs are hoping the "Bama magic" will rub off on them. Just not true at Clemson. Also, a few have been encouraged to leave by CNS.

He did it at Miami. They did it by watching TV and film. Totally legal.

Not really - he was a bad DC, just could not get it done. CNS knew he was not ready but hoped it would work out, but it did not. Of course he did it because Lupoi is good recruiter - it was not worth it.
