Steve Addazio was a decent OLine coach at previous stops.

I cannot believe how patronizing this is - LSU fans should have been turned off by it, but they seem to have a thing for frauds

It's funny that for the longest time, saying Brian Kelly killed a student on here was fine(because he did).

Now they're deleting posts that say it on Rant and MSB

There was a thread saying "Why does people hate Brian Kelly"

and a top post was something to the lines of...."Well it's probably because he killed a kid but now he is our kid killer. Let's go win some national championships."

Same reason tornado jokes are acceptable and Katrina jokes will get you banned. It's as if the guy who owns the website is kind of a piece of shite.

LINK ]2021 Coaching Carousel updates (247)

Dec. 2

Minnesota: Kirk Ciarrocca has been targeted to re-join P.J. Fleck's staff as Minnesota's offensive coordinator, reports Pete Thamel of Yahoo! Sports. Ciarrocca left Minnesota after a record-breaking season in 2019 to become Penn State's play-caller, but he was fired after only one season. He was an analyst at West Virginia this fall.

Troy: Fresh off our report earlier on finalists emerging in Troy's search, the Trojans have found their man. Kentucky co-defensive coordinator Jon Sumrall has been hired as Troy's head coach, sources tell 247Sports.

Troy: Two names to keep an eye on for the head coaching job at Troy include Jon Sumrall, Kentucky co-defensive coordinator; and West Virginia defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley, sources told 247Sports.

Washington State: Nevada defensive coordinator Brian Ward has accepted an offer to become coach Jake Dickert's defensive play caller, according to Football Scoop. 247Sports' Coaching Carousel reported Wednesday Ward had emerged as a serious candidate.

Mizzou: Interim defensive line coach Al Davis has been promoted to full-time defensive line coach, a source tells 247Sports.

Virginia: In a bit of shocking news, Bronco Mendenhall has announced he will step down as Virginia's head coach following the bowl game.

SMU: SMU is close to hiring Missouri tight ends coach Casey Woods as offensive coordinator, a source tells 247Sports. Woods is also the recruiting coordinator at Mizzou.

ECU: Head coach Mike Houston has agreed to terms of a new contract at ECU through 2026. ECU is bowl eligible for the first time since 2014.

Colorado State: Steve Addazio has been fired at Colorado State, according to multiple reports. He was 4-12 in two seasons.

Oregon: Oregon is set to offer Mario Cristobal an "aggressive" new contract as rumors swirl about the Miami job, which is still occupied by Manny Diaz, reports The Oregonian. Cristobal's salary for the 2021 season is $4.3 million and word is the new contract would be in the neighborhood of the nearly $10 million yearly salaries awarded Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly this week. Cristobal would owe Oregon $9 million if he leaves the school for another job before Jan. 14, 2022.

Nebraska: Nebraska has hired LSU receivers coach Mickey Joseph to the same position on Scott Frost's staff.

Notre Dame: Marcus Freeman is officially the head coach at Notre Dame. The news was revealed Friday morning to the team by strength coach Matt Balis, and it was captured on video.

Washington State: Nevada's Brian Ward has been hired as Washington State's defensive coordinator, a source tells 247Sports.

ETA: It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, after Oregon looked unmotivated again vs Utah tonight in the PAC-12 CG.

Watching the CUSA Championship. They said the Western Kentucky OC was just 30. His QB is just the 6th player to throw for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in a season.

Yeah, but Manny just had too many bad losses, including FSU who lost to UF. Miami's in-state recruiting also hasn't been very good and this season's on-field showing isn't gonna help it.

Miami is an example of how you can mishandle a transition. If you can't get the ideal coach, then don't go all in on an average one. I'd rather promote an assistant on the cheap and try again soon after.

Yeah, really dramatic turnaround from where they were last season, before he was there, too. And did basically the same thing at his previous job. Seems like he's a great young offensive mind. There are a variety of reasons why I wouldn't want him for Bama / he wouldn't be a good fit here, but, man, sometimes part of me wishes we'd roll with an up-and-coming, kinda directional (but damned good directional), college-centric guy like that. Could be fun.
