What's wrong with Metchie? Is it you prefer other players at WR/DB than him?

How do you come up with a "shite" opening game?
It's a P5 opponent that has produced a Heisman winner and wins against aTm, Miami (twice), Notre Dame, and FSU (twice) in the last 5 years. That's a solid OOC game for us.
Not to mention that they beat the living frick out of us last time we played them.

Man you must have been super pumped to play Louisiana Monroe in 2015.
The heisman winner is gone and even with him playing lights out last year, they lost to Wake Forest and Boston College.
That is not an exciting game for us and your spiel was more shitty than the opponent, so i award you no points for the effort.
But hey ill give a redemption shot: give us your best spiel for 2019 Duke. Another P5 opponent, wow!! (see if you can work in that close loss vs a heisman led TAMU team back in 2013 season.)

I also want Northern Illinois, Louisiana Tech, and UCF again.

I want Boston College. We have a losing record against them.
Posted on 6/20/18 at 4:36 pm to Cobrasize
It would be a great trip regardless. Gladly have a home and home with them.
Posted on 6/20/18 at 4:57 pm to CapstoneGrad06
Boston College or Pitt because I would be able to go to the road games
Damn it I need commits or wild speculation about commits. What is going on? Come on insiders post some stuff. Even made up stuff. Just give me the sweet recruiting dope I crave.

Welp, Jordan Davis is heading to JuCo
Bone says he is going to East Mississippi. That sucks. Does it open up a scholarship for this class?

I'm pretty sure it does not. Explanation:
The NCAA revised Bylaw 13.9.2.3 (below) to limit NLI and/or financial aid agreement signings to 25 per academic year. Most people interpret that as meaning you lose the initial counter spot if an NLI signee doesn't qualify. However, the NCAA Bylaws don't actually state that the initial counter spot is lost.
So at first glance it appears it'd leave us another unused 2018-cycle initial counter spot, since Davis won't enroll and receive a countable scholarship. From that perspective it appears that Davis' 2018-cycle initial counter spot will be unused and thus should be useable for (1) Umstead Sanders, since we only have 24 signees (incl. Davis) so far for the 2018 academic year, or (2) a 2019-cycle early enrollee.
HOWEVER, we cannot subtract Davis from the number of NLI signees we have for the 2018 academic year. So his initial counter spot isn't actually useable for us to sign someone else for 2019, because we'd still have more total initial counter spots (27) available than signee spots (26) for the 2018 and 2019 cycles.
So, we even though the rules don't say we lose his initial counter spot, we can't actually use his IC spot to take an additional 27th signee who'd have to be counted against signee limits.
The only way I see that we can rectify our apparent shortfall of signee spots vs initial counter spots and utimately use Davis' spot is if/when Davis enrolls at UA after Juco. By rule (15.5.6.3.8 below), he'd be treated as an initial counter against his original (seemingly "unused") initial counter spot without having to be counted again against the 25/year signee limits.
It appears the rules were changed to (1) curtail oversigning and (2) discourage schools from signing kids who are high risk to not qualify. It also looks like the change was done in a manner that enables (and encourages) UA to take Davis after he graduates from Juco, without it costing us another spot, since we effectively lost the ability to "reuse" his spot to take someone else. Any other school that takes him after he graduates from Juco will spend a signee spot and initial counter spot to do so.

NCAA Bylaws sections:
13.9.2.3 Limitation on Number of National Letter of Intent/Offer of Financial Aid Signings — Bowl Subdivision Football. [FBS] In bowl subdivision football, there shall be an annual limit of 25 on the number of prospective student-athletes who may sign a National Letter of Intent or an institutional offer of financial aid and student-athletes who may sign a financial aid agreement for the first time. [D] (Revised: 4/26/17 effective 8/1/17 for signings that occur on or after 8/1/17)
13.9.2.3.1 Application. [FBS] A prospective student-athlete who signs a National Letter of Intent or an institutional offer of financial aid or a student-athlete who signs a financial aid agreement that specifies financial aid will be initially provided in the fall term of an academic year shall count toward the annual limit on signings for that academic year. A prospective student-athlete who signs a National Letter of Intent or an institutional offer of financial aid or a student-athlete who signs a financial aid agreement that specifies financial aid will be initially provided during the second or third term of the academic year may count toward the limit for that academic year or the limit for the next academic year. (Revised: 4/26/17 effective 8/1/17 for signings that occur on or after 8/1/17)
15.5.6.3.8 Returning Two-Year Transfer. [FBS/FCS] A student-athlete who previously was an initial counter and who transferred to a two-year college shall not be an initial counter upon return to the original institution.
Note: 15.5.6.3.8 applies to a player already enrolled on scholarship who then transfers to juco and then returns after juco to re-enroll on scholarship.
