with 5 OL vs our 4 DL somebody was getting double teamed

This statement can only be remotely applied to passing plays, and even then, it is not necessarily true play in and play out. It depends on the Oline's blocking scheme, the overall play goal, as well as whether the defense rushed other players on the play.

Remember, the Oline's job is not to "block the Dline", but rather to provide either protection or to create space for certain players each play.

It's technically not a lie if the contact was to an intermediary, i.e. agent.

This is the American way.

Think we ever hire a local HS guy for a support role, like Niblett?

Josh Gattis leaving Alabama for Big 10 job (al.com)

Congratulations to Coach Gattis. I wish him well.

See this is why I believe that Aranda will at least listen if Saban wants to speak to him. Gattis doesn't get this job if he doesn't work for Saban. Aranda won't get a big-time head coaching job if he remains working for Orgeron. Hell, Aranda is propping Orgeron up and everyone knows it.

We need to start putting some nice buyouts on these contracts. At least we could make some money off of this shite

This is crazy. It's like people are only allowed to hire from our staff.

I have to think that the fact we dont saddle assistants with large buyouts is how we are able to pull strong staffs together year after year. Yes there is a lot of benefit with being tied to a Saban staff, but there has to be a reason we aren't attaching pricey buyouts at this point.

I figure most of the staff contracts have some degree of buyouts. With as much staff turnover as we have, we should be collecting buyouts to offset paying buyouts to hire replacements.

Or we should make them sign two or three year contracts/commitments before giving them the job. After all Saban has the leverage. What's happening is just getting too ridiculous. Coach Bryant had great success but don't remember him having such coaching turnover.

That's a good way not to get the best candidates.

I thought we might have buyouts but they need to be higher. I'm not wanting to hinder people from getting different jobs, but I just want the University to be compensated for the time and strain when we have to replace folks. Might sound stupid to some, but this effects recruiting to a point and time is money. Instead of dealing with staff turnover, there are other things that could be taken care of

Yeah, after last year's turnover, thought it might be a little while before we'd lose so many...

Kirby and UGA are getting a taste of it this year as well...they've lost both coordinators...

Remember, we created this. It's Alabama's dominance that created this arms race, and it's Alabama's dominance and Saban's quick success that changed nationwide expectations regarding success and win/loss records.

We are victims of our own success. What can you do?
