5 of those were drops. Not bad with the thumb injury. He made better decisions with the ball than JM.

Well his decisions didn't lead to near as many yards and TDs as Milroe. Milroe did throw one more int than Ty, so I'll give ya that. I think I recall one of our DBs dropping an easy one that Ty threw though.

I recall several dropped INTs. KoolAid and Ricks each had one in their chest.

I’m rooting for both Milroe and Simpson to improve and be able to win games for us

I will say if that QB from Tulane wants to come I wouldn’t want us to tell him no

Greg McElroy on the Ty Simpson train on JOX this morning. Said Bama could win games with both, but Ty is our best chance this year based off the limited sample size.

father2sons and Funky Tide won't like that. But I agree with Greg.

Funky, if we are really being honest about the situation. Milroe should've been picked 3 times. The first one should've been picked by Kool-Aid on a throw to JaCorey. Ty Simpson second drive of the game should've went for points whether it was a touchdown or field goal. They called 3 straight run plays when he was moving the ball effectively thru the air. He hurt his thumb because one of his offensive lineman was pushed in his grill and he still was able to complete the pass.

I've looked at the QB situation in multiple ways...Jalen Milroe's running ability will get by versus weak defensive teams. If he can learn to read defenses and pass the ball with accuracy...then he'll be the starter throughout the season no doubt but those are big "IFs"!

So basically Ty was playing through multiple injuries with the 2's and were in not for 4-5 drops would have had a fairly impressive stat line. Not to mention, his only pick was an insane play by a DB that wasn't a terrible throw at all. I do think he gives us the best chance to compete for a title at the moment, but Milroe could improve this summer and fall camp too. I also am not opposed to bringing in a veteran QB for one year to let these guys get one more season of development. That might be the best of both worlds.

Agree for the most part...

We don't need a veteran. Trust the guys you got because they are extremely skilled. Coaching development will be key here. We gone see if Rees can earn this money Bama is paying him.

I'm not anti-Ty Simpson, at all.

I think he can be good. But all we heard through spring practice about both players and then what both showed in the spring game, I think that Milroe is better right now. If we heard reports of Ty tearing it up all spring, but then just had a mediocre spring game, or even if his spring game performance was affected by his thumb, then I'd feel differently.

That isn't to say that Simpson won't win the job. A lot can happen between now and September.

I absolutely do not care if I'm wrong, obviously, if Ty is better, he'll start and I'll cheer hard for him and the team.

Milroe looks like the same QB who had half a dozen turnovers in the A&M game last year. Could he improve ? Sure. Jalen Hurts did in 2018. But it's a leap of faith to believe that it will happen again with Jalen Milroe. I would have loved to have seen Ty Simpson get reps with the first team unit. It skews things when it comes to the evaluation process and the public perception of the QB competition.

Surprised we haven't seen more guys from Bama enter the portal following A-Day. They need to enter the portal before it closes on 4/30 in order to be eligible to play next year.

I have a post a few pages back stating that we could win with either QB if the O line and defense are improved. I don’t care who starts, but I think Milroe is more dangerous in a run first offense.

We may not be run first, but I feel like we should be.

Agreed. It would have been helpful to give both QB's the same number of series with the 1's. Maybe Jalen gets the first half and Ty gets the second half or something along those lines. Let 'em both eat steak.

I read one poster say Ty had 8 passes dropped and Jalen 3 drops.
That could make any qb look bad. Kind of hard to have any consistency with that going on.
