Georgia made a living off short passes and screens to the RB last year like we saw Saturday
They had McConkey catching balls down the field every time I turned them on. I don't have a lot of faith in Milroe to make those throws. Bennet won that job because he could execute the offense better than anybody else they had. Milroe ain't that guy. In fact, we don't have that guy. We have a bunch of young inexperienced guys still learning the offense.
I think they want Milroe to be a guy who reads the defense and then runs when the play breaks down, with some RPOs sprinkled in. Not sure if JM can be successful doing that. He needs a bunch of designed runs to get comfortable. Almost like an old school option team, lots of running to set up some wide open passing attempts. But there is no way Saban wants to run an offense like that if he has any other choice.

Stetson had an incredible deep ball. Super accurate. Reminded me a little of Mac Jones with the perfect deep balls. I saw nothing of the sort Saturday. Word is coming out that Ty dislocated his throwing thumb on his first snap. Played through it. Makes you wonder what he could have looked like?

The reason Georgia was so good at those dump off screens is because they were elite at blocking at all levels. From O line to TEs to WRs.
Our blocking has to get back to being elite from our WRs and TEs. I miss seeing guys like Metchie destroying DBs.

Julio with a pancake
Watch Julio blow someone up on the opening kickoff. That's how WRs should block.

I think it was on the last play of the first quarter.

Yep saw him during the game favoring it on the sideline. He still played well tho. Pretty impressive.

Y’all need to relax and let the practices and fall come. Both Simpson and Milroe will be better. We will see who can take the reins.

frick that. What better than a QB battle to get a fanbase fired up? This is honestly more fun than just having the team on auto-pilot; at least during the off-season. I'm not concerned at all. But I'm interested. I wish we could get more info from camp but we'll just have to make judgments with the info we have.

I copied that off a sports writer’s tweet - but didn’t fact check it. If you have SEC Network you can watch the A Day game on SECN+ on demand (scroll to the on demand section at the bottom of the SECN+ page - it was pretty far over to the right as you scroll through the shows available to watch)
On the regular SEC channel- it’s showing as coming on Tuesday at 1 am CT & 7 am CT and 10 pm CT Wednesday.

Simpson allegedly dislocated his thumb
One of the more extreme ways Saban could end a QB battle

the announcers commented on them being able to hear his thumb hit an OL's helmet. I understand there were 5 drops just on his throws alone. Would have put his % over 50% and I am sure his thumb was throbbing

Damn, y’all really don’t want Milroe.

What that have to do with liking Milroe. Thats legitimate. You could see him favoring it on the sideline. Also Milroe shouldn't give anyone a warm feeling right now.

And you REALLY don't want Ty.

So you are saying that 12-of-26 for 155 yards and an int is "playing well" and "impressive" while also saying that Milroe shouldn't give anyone a warm feeling? Interesting.
