Milroe at RB excites me. He's big, strong, and explosive.

I don’t know if Saban would use Milroe or not… kinda thin at Qb too

Slade will have to move to QB.

Story has 15 lbs on Bolden and is a better athlete.

I'll concede Slade has fumbling issues in the past if you'll concede Story has never played college football issues in the present. I'd like Story better too if this was April. It's not. Slade has been going to offensive meetings for 4 years. Story has gone to zero. Slade knows the playbook. Story does not. Oh and there's a finite amount of time for prep and practice. In either case, I don't think we're talking about someone to run between the tackles 20 times. Just someone you could trust in an emergency. Slade makes more sense than Story.

Slade makes sense as a third down back, for all the reasons stated. I just dont think we want to use him in pass pro a whole lot.

But if we need somebody to pass block, Robbie Oustz is playing well at FB and he's north of 250.

Slade has also played a little RB and has ran the "Slade Cat" before. He lined up a bit in the backfield last season when he took over Waddle's plays too.

Yeah i think we could get one of the young receivers to work in that role. Sark loved those plays to get a pre snap read on the defense and to manipulate coverages. Not sure if BOB likes them as much or what is going on. But i think getting a speedster involved is a good move, even if it's window dressing.

He's had two, coincidentally on Texas routes from RB.

I’m just guessing on temporary RB shift but if it’s precautionary (which it currently is) then I would assume it’s someone not playing. Story fits that bill pretty well.

Milroe likely needs every snap he can get in practice at QB. We’re thinner at QB than RB.

I could see Slade if it goes from precautionary to an actual need. Slade’s basically a starter right now.

Is Wheaton done for the year too?

Im not hitting the panic button just yet on the RB situation. I think Roydell and Trey are both very capable.

Eta: just saw Saban said Camar has a meniscus injury and hasn't been cleared to return to practice yet. But, i gotta think he will be back at some point later this year.

On the RB and QB depth topic; Georgia has 13 RBs and 8 QBs. That’s how many I counted when I looked at their roster sometime back. Don’t know how many are WO’s but that is insane. We have what 4 and 5?
How can you afford to have so many?

If you’re going simply by the roster, then Alabama has 8 RBs. But half those are walkons. I’d imagine the same is true for Georgia.

Guilbeau quotes Coach Saban as saying Wheaton, who has not carried this season, is questionable for Saturday’s game at Texas A&M. Hopefully we'll get to see him before too much longer.
