The guy on BOL who has been pretty on top of the COVID issues internally said that we will be without 1 starter this weekend - the first time we've lost a starter this year.
But he said it was just 1 guy and it wasn't Mac. So, I'd assume it was on the OL. I guess it could be more after the contract tracing stuff.

I think the only one that would cause us problems against Arkansas would be Dickerson. Not lose the game problems, but just some sputtering. Owens I'm assuming is the backup and is a veteran guy, but Dickerson is probably the best center in CFB this year.

Hope it's an OG instead of OC or OT, and he's back for the UF game. Thread.

Had a good talk with Waddle last night
He really has no idea what he is going to do. He said he hasn't decided if he will play in the natty game if he gets the green light. He just has his blinders on trying to get back to 100% and thinking about coming back next year because he loves the college life and thinks he can improve his draft status like Smitty. He just has to get through the season and go home and talk to his parents.

Not the best time to start having Covid problems with the SEC Championship Game around the corner.

That’s crazy to me. Slade walked for HS graduation in May 2018 and is getting his bachelors tomorrow in December 2020.

Sounds like we have 1 OL starter out tomorrow.
And I thought we were going to make it the whole season with the same starting 5

The truth… I understand Chris Owens will get his first start of year. He had a great week at practice! All other starters are good to go!!! A tackle did not make trip due to covid but should be back next week.
Earlier in week comments remain the same so I copied below…
The truth… As Coach said all 4 coaches are expected back and I do expect all 10 coaches to be in Arkansas if things stay the same. I do expect some analyst to be out this week as the team tries to get rid of the spread but less than last week.
We are in great shape on injuries with no new injuries. Hard to believe that the LSU game was not very physical compared to previous years. Total domination. I do expect us to be without a few players and we could be out one starter due to covid. This would be our first of year. I do know that Mac is fine and he is still covid free!
As for the offense, the staff will tell you that having so many zooms this spring and many more practices in the summer over longer period, that the team is way ahead of any other team in recent history. Sark offense is being run to perfection. The 35 point streak is alive and well. People think that missing spring hurt but Saban took full advantage of the time and players had more time to learn offense than ever before!! Other teams took time off…like Auburn. It did hurt us on the physical side not having spring and physical August but after a few games, players have tackled great.
I have been telling you about Billingsley. Look at Charlie’s practice video and see his catch... He can play TE or WR, tall, runs like a deer, and great hands.
Baker is getting more work and I am going to predict his first catch this week. Just a guess.
Defense continues to work on little things and pass rush. Getting better every day and Staying healthy

Billingsley is a very pleasant surprise this year. He's smooth in his routes and that long frame gives him an advantage on smaller DBs and LBs. Would love to see him run some routes up the hashmarks with a MLB trying to keep up with him.

Don't know if it's been asked but, how is Slade's ankle doing? I like seeing him on punts and those move the chains type passes.

Not really. My daughter is classified as a junior in hours going into her freshman spring semester. But she's not doing it as a D1 athlete either. Slade has his shite together off the field, wish he would get back to form on the field.

Bama has it set up for all players to graduate in three years. Slade enrolled midyear (Jan 2018), completing his first spring and summer terms before his first fall term and then two more summer terms. Iow, he's graduating in three calendar years, Jan 2018 - Dec 2020. Guys who don't enroll midyear, but take classes for three summers, usually graduate in May of their third academic year.
