the players know where they stand Marvin. Everyday they are told where to stand in line up for drills. I am pretty sure the 8th string walk on RB does not go to the head of the line and stays. Marvin of all people should know this. The Depth Chart is for reports and fans so they can talk bout it.

I am almost certain after he released a depth chart a year of two ago; he said he wouldn't ever do it again.

Any prop bets on the over/under on the number of "ORs" that appear in the "depth chart" provided to the media on game day?

Gary Harris, on this week's Tider Insider show, pointed out that in Jalen Hurts' first game, he was listed 3rd on the depth chart behind 1 Blake Barnett and 2 Cooper Bateman. That lasted two series. Jalen went on to start about 26 games, and the other two transferred. How valuable was that depth chart?

Not to mention true freshmen like Diggs, Lewis, Wilson, Raekwon, and Q. Williams, with Jeremy Pruitt as the DC... I miss it and I want it back.
That defense was insane. If we Tua that year we would have destroyed every team we played by at least 35

In the Transfer Portal/NIL era, putting a depth chart out seems counterproductive. The players already know where they currently stand. Doing anything publicity wise that might cause players to transfer just doesn't make much sense. Plus not having an official depth chart might keep players more competitive, it sends a message to keep on grinding. I think Saban is ahead of the curve on this.

This is something the simpletons like Tim Brando don't understand. As soon as you put a depth chart out in this day and age, players fighting for playing time in competitive positions will think they have lost the position battle and will immediately start looking around for greener pastures. The transfer portal has made it to where this has to be done.

I'm sorry the media is losing out on a story, but a coach has to do what's best for his team.

But meh he’s bullying the local media by not releasing a depth chart.

I don't think the depth chart is about being soft. As others have stated I doubt anyone in the football building is ambiguous as to where they stand. I think it has more to do with Saban having had his fill with entitled players. I don't think he's had a ton but I do think he's had enough. This team has no stars. I think he wants them to win together as a team from top to bottom.

We lost last year because we had a weak run game, we had a shaky defense and QB1 went down and QB2 wasn't ready to win so we brought QB1 back early and he was still too injured to win some close games. It's a shame too because QB1 by seasons end was better and certainly should have gotten the shot at the playoffs since we now know beyond any doubt that two of those teams were utter garbage and shouldn't have been there.

I think this year he wants to correct all three of those failings. I'm certain Milro is the starter snap one but if he can't get it done I think we'll see the rest in succession until he finds someone who takes that bull by the horns.

Bryce was 35/52 for 455 yards and 2 TDs against UT. Should have been about 490 yards and 3 TDs but Gibbs dropped a perfect pass that he almost certainly would have housed.

I don't usually like to play coulda / shoulda / woulda, but ...

Our game against Kansas State wasn't really in doubt about halfway through the second quarter. This is the same K-State team that defeated TCU in their conference championship.

In the end, I don't think it mattered ... we weren't going to beat Georgia regardless.

He tried to hit an assistant coach during an incident at Bryant Hall. He was suspended indefinitely and then entered the portal.

Was getting whooped by younger players at his position then almost got his arse whooped by Josh Chapman after striking him when Chapman broke up some clownery in the dorms. Got put underneath the doghouse, found a new home shortly thereafter.
