He should have either committed to Davis and had him ready with the clean inning, or gone with someone else. Seemed like he rushed Davis in and he wasn’t ready to pitch yet. Can’t hesitate in big time college baseball

The assistant coach has a done a tremendous job since having to take over. I think it'll depend on what the team do throughout the tournament.

Florida's 2, 3, & 4 hitters was not seeing the ball all that good versus Aidan Moza so I would've lived and died with him on that mound.
I would've told him...I'm not warming anybody up so go snatch their TEETH out.

We have go getters. We have guys who played really well all night. Three balls found their way in the gaps. That is just the way the game goes sometimes. Pitchers give up homers sometimes. They played a very good team.

Piss off. I will melt and you can deal with it. No excuse for losing that game.
You're not melting. You buy your swimsuits from Target.

I was leaning that way when all of it was happening too. Either commit to him or start anybody other than Davis there. He needed the night off. He wasn’t that sharp last night either. Kentucky just couldn’t hit.

Davis was up and throwing the 2 innings prior to going in. I agree, he should’ve went in at the start of the inning. But he definitely wasn’t rushed in. His velo was higher tonight than it was last night. Florida did a good job of seeing his pitches and hitting him.
I hate it for him. He’s a tremendously talented kid who’s handled himself well.

What did those batters do against the pitcher before Davis? I'll help ya... Absolutely nothing!
That is a brutal lineup that can get hot at any moment, but the issue is more so that Davis looked like he just didn’t have his stuff for the first time in weeks.
If he shows up with even an average performance no one is second guessing anything and Bama wins the game.

What sucks is that the closer and Moza will not be available tomorrow.
Should've ridden with Moza. Dude was lights out.

Whoever won tonight was going to be in trouble starting tomorrow.
Whoever lost tonight was pretty much screwed.
They played a great game tonight against a national championship level team, sometimes it just breaks the other way.

No the closer just didn’t have his stuff tonight
There is a reason you rarely see a major league manager use his closer for a 2 inning save and you will NEVER see him bring that closer in the next night! This loss is squarely on Jackson. Hopefully he learns from it.

was there. And a few comments
Place was packed and electric. All of the opposing fans were cheering for UF.
Davis is our closer right? The idiot Bama fan next to me said he was not. Davis has bothered me slightly the last couple of games as he gives up a few base runners before getting out of a jam. They were teeing off on his fast ball.
Why were the UF players at the end pulling a UT and taunting our players. Especially the guys running in from the bull pen.
Also after we scored the 3 runs our players were out of the dug out and the third base ump was pissed and kept pointing to a certain area in front of the dug out motioning for players or player to get back. Whoever he was motioning to in front of the dug out, as I could not see him due to my position on the third base line. Was a Bama player taunting the UF dugout which then caused the UF taunting.

In hindsight, it’s so easy to say that JJ should’ve stayed with Moza but…
Moza was at 59 pitches. His season high to that point was 36.
At least three maybe four of the balls hit off of him would’ve been home runs at majority of the ballparks we play at. So they were hitting him hard. The first pitch of the 11th inning the batter hit one over the fence that was just foul.
I don’t think there is a coach in college baseball that doesn’t go to their closer in that position. You absolutely have too. If JJ loses that game because he left Moza in, one would have to question his ability to coach baseball.

That's what happens when Auburn plays right after us.

D1 Baseball's latest projections (May 25)
They have us as the 11 seed:
1. Alabama
2. Southern Miss
3. Arizona State
4. Samford
We'd be matched against the Stanford regional for Supers:
1. Stanford
2. Texas
3. UC Santa Barbara
4. San Jose State

That would be clutch. Stanford hasn’t played anyone with a pulse all year.

Umpires don't like a lot of players running out of the dugout on a live ball, which Tommy's was as a double. Little different when it's a home run, but when there's any possibility that dugout players could interfere with a play they don't like that. Jarvis coming all the way from first on that play with the throw to the plate potentially coming toward the UA dugout would've been the issue.
Also I would guess the dugouts/players were probably chirping back and forth for a lot of the game. I don't think there was any one thing that brought that on.

Sitting at 11, we would seem to be in great shape regardless of today's outcome.
