Yea I don’t think buying at shirt to go to the baseball NIL collective is going to keep many top tier players

he will develop over at LSU or UF unless we figure this NIL thing out.

I don't know how UA collective is prioritizing money, but I bet it is against major money making sports. CfB is king. Shooty Hoops is second and Coleman still stands as is.

Baseball is a distant 3rd (4th nationally due to hockey).

I'd love for it to spread to baseball, but I'm not sure it's a priority.

According to Big Orange Insider, Chase Burns is expected to stay at Tennessee for the 2024 baseball season.

Burns was supposedly offered a 6 figure NIL deal from LSU and Vandy, but a Tennessee donor was able to step up this weekend to keep him in Knoxville.

Baseball really seems worse than any other sport with NIL. Just buying guys left and right.

LSU is just slinging bags of cash right now for its baseball squad

He hinted in the comments that we would be getting Ian Petrutz from Maryland. Who knows.

How much did they spend on their 2023 run? $2M? $3M? Not sure if anybody will ever know, but I do know they paid some serious coin to get to where they are now.

They aren’t in the finals without Skenes and White.

More on Kade Snell - seems to cut from the same cloth as GMac

Incoming Alabama Player Named Junior College Position Player of the Year (SI)

Kade Snell of Wallace College-Dothan lands top honor from Rawlings Sports and the American Baseball Coaches Association
quote:

He's the first player from an Alabama community college to win the award. The former Wicksburg High School standout went 10-0 in 14 games, with a 1.86 earned run average and 87 strikeouts, which both topped the state.

The Alabama Crimson Tide signee was named a first-team All-American on June 12 as a left-handed pitcher, but the Wallace-Dothan standout was arguably just as effective as a hitter. While in the lineup at first base, designated hitter and left field, he hit .393, drove in a state-best 70 runs and 13 home runs. He also stole nine bases.

Well. He certainly has done well at the JUCO level. He originally signed with Auburn but did not see action as a freshman. Went the JUCO route and now has signed with us. His Perfect Game profile shows his FB veto in Feb. 2022 at 87 mph. He is a lefty, but that is pretty slow. Perhaps that has improved. Maybe he has nasty movement. Maybe he locates like a good realtor. I hope he keeps dominating. And I hope Lousy-anna state loses tonight and the corndogs grind their teeth and toss in their beds for a week.

Am I dumb for thinking recruiting high school kids is becoming less and less important. Idk the purpose of spending a ton of money on a kid out of high school that might leave the program in 9 months due to a better offer.

Might as well just pay an experienced incoming sophomore or upper classmen/grad transfer that you know can come in and start day 1.

Look at the rosters from the teams in the Regionals, Supers and CWS.

Some of these dudes were in their 3rd or 4th college program.
