That reality alone should make Milroe decide to move on. Right now his draft stock is as high as it could be, unless by some miracle he finally evolves into a QB.

We have CKDs quote about the WRs not being selfish and running an offense that “just tried to win games.” If that isn’t a frank assessment from a coach, I don’t know what is. Every single interview I read about CKD when he was being considered all said the same thing. He will have a QB-centric offense where the QB is asked to deliver the ball efficiently to WRs in space to stress defenses. We all saw with our own eyes that CKDs scheme works with WRs running wide are open all over the place.

So, why would he come back with the possibility of being benched when things start going south?

Given this season’s results, and the sentiment of the fan base, it would be absolutely ludicrous for DeBoer to hitch his wagon to Milroe for another year.

Fans might forgive a few losses breaking a new QB or even a true fresh QB if they see potential. Fans will absolutely not tolerate another year of the Jalen Milroe experience, and I am pretty sure DeBoer knows this.

Just my 2 cents. Milroe may not turn pro this year but he won’t take snaps for Bama. I think he’d transfer out. You know he’s seen social media reaction to his play at times. I wouldn’t want to stick around for sure.

Everyone besides Milroe has been groomed to play in DeBoers offense

Mack having a year head start would've mattered last season, but not after Simpson and Lonergan will have 20 months under it since DeBoer was hired

Will Milroe choose/to come back? If he does then he is not the ony fool involvedin the decision.

1) Come back because he thinks he can improve his stock. The DC's in this league are not likely to forget what they have learned about him. Does he think that CKD thinks he is so amazing at QB that he will bet his and his family's future on Jalen? If CKD makes the choice to build for nextyear with the other QB in the bowl and/or in the spring then what little hope JM has for the NFL is gone. He needsto step aside before someone notices he has no clothes.

2) Step out before bowl practice starts and hope noone figures out he cannot make themental jump to the next level.

3) Make the choice to play in the bowl game and hope that the Michigan DC is too lazy to watch film.

I bet milroe plays the bowl game. Wouldn't surprise me at all. Seems the kind of guy that would finish the season for his school.

Yeah IMO if No. 4 is gone, this is wide open next year. May the best QB win. I don't care who he is.

I bet you want milroe to play in the bowl game. Wouldn't surprise me at all. You seem like the kind of guy that would want him to finish the season for you.

I hate opt outs as much as the next guy. Especially when these dudes are getting paid what they are in college. That said, JM4 is getting top 2-3 grades…I’d sit my arse on the couch. Ain’t nothing he is doing in the bowl game helping, and likely only hurting. He is an athlete playing QB..that’s all he ever has been. If he is getting round one money, he better get it while the getting is good.

Devil's advocate he's been hell on wheels in games coming off a bye. Maybe he absolutely dominates with the bowl prep and solidifies a high round pick. Good for us and good for him.

While I do get your point, in those games his running had been the difference. Everyone knows how well he runs…straight. I, personally see no reason for him to play. If he lights up a defense of opt outs I am not certain it helps his value. Especially in the whatever the frick bowl we are playing in.

I know the Reliaquest Bowl sounds sketchy it's the Outback Bowl. They just got a new sponsor.

Definitely a win win situation if it pans out this way.

I’m the complete opposite. I used to hate opt outs. I understood them, but I didn’t like them.

Now with players being paid, frick them. If WE (ie. Coaches, fans, etc) don’t want them to play, they they need to hit the road. Once they are no longer useful to the team, sayonara.

They want to be paid professionals, then we treat them like paid professionals.

I had one last night. It was damn good. I ended up taking the remains of it and putting it on my salad. Was a great move.
