The program has lost 8 games in the last two years.
LSU being above us is laughable considering we've abused them for years, but the last memory voters have of Alabama is getting bitch slapped by Indiana and not bringing in a single "big" name in the portal.
Also, who gives a shite. The AP poll carries as much weight as the SECrant.com poll

To who? None of the players on this roster have achieved anything. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt based on the reputation of a program that no longer exists.

Right. Not many have lifted even a conference title. One is a national champion by sheerly due to their awful injury luck.

Let's be honest-offense and QB are a pretty big question mark. Plenty of talent on that side of the ball, but after last season's run game fiasco, and breaking a brand new QB, its not an unreasonable preseason ranking.

I care about the program's perception and reputation. We've been the standard during multiple periods...not just the Saban Dynasty.
We were just in the CFP...won a playoff game...top 5 ranked recruiting classes. I do think it's a slap in the face to be 13 factoring all that in.

But, college football has never been about who has the most money.
Its just not comparable anymore. The last 12 to 18 months have been a big change.

They'll probably bring in an established QB from the portal and a few defenders from their farm team in Tuscaloosa

Qua Russaw and James Smith?? lol. It’s that’s their “farm team”, then all they got were Single-A players.
Russaw took snaps away from
Pierre then refused to move to an off-ball LB position (where he actually has potential), and James Smith simply doesn’t fit the scheme relative to what they are asking the DL to do in order to be successful.
His 14 total tackles and 1 PBU in 15 games aren’t exactly “eye opening” production . Not to mention the inability to 2-gap which resulted in him spending 1/2 the game in LB’s laps. Not to mention all the critical personal fouls. Guy was making 650,000K reportedly….

It is irrelevant... to a point.
What will work against Bama now is the preconceived notion that Bama "should be" the #13 team in the country.
Thus, if it comes down to an Alabama or a preseason higher ranked team, Bama might get not get the nod.
Whoever is doing the choosing would never admit so, they'll justify it by other means, but they might just pick based on the higher ranked team.

Is that all they've taken? I'm counting a few more that started here and ended up there.
Julian Sayin, Caleb Downs, Seth McLaughlin, Earl Little, Qua Russaw, and James Smith. Don't shoot the scribe. They have a pretty substantial track record of taking in Bama guys

I hate to say it but Alabama doesn't deserve the nod anymore. And quite honestly it's only going to get worse in that regard. I hate to agree with tards on the Rant or Kirk Herbstreet but unfortunately 38-3 did significantly harm the program's perception.

38-3 is like what we did to Michigan State in 2015. Nobody took Sparty as serious contender again after that.
