conservative, liberal----I can't tell the difference these days. Folks switch sides when it suits them, both sides can lay claim to statists.

This virus appears to have mutated into something less deadly combined with better knowledge of how to treat it. If it mutates again to a more deadly form, all hell will break loose.

It’s too soon to tell, the narrative will change at least twice more before September. As it stands right now, at least a third of Clemson’s team has it or has had it. If they played Saturday, how would that work? I’m tired of this mother fricking virus disrupting every facet of everybody’s life.

I think we'll have a season with fans in the stadium.

That doesn't really apply at all.

Bars are basically one of the very few specific places where the virus can spread quickly due to being inside and close contact for extended periods.

The risk for the British was the time when the Luftwaffe flew over London and the sirens went off. The people didn't say fvck that and chill in the streets - they sprinted to the Underground to take cover.

Being tough and being smart are not mutually exclusive.

Football players are likely safer in the controlled environment of the program than lolly-gagging around their home towns all summer.

Every university will have strict testing & safety protocols and I'm sure Coach Saban will have the new and improved S&C staff grind any stray cats into dog meat if they violate any new team rules

Agree - I was honestly shocked at the report the LSU kids got infected hanging out at Tigerland. Couldn't believe they were just out and about at a place like that.

If you're at-risk and in crowded bar then that's on you.

I work at the hospital and I have more reason to be scared and all that, but life goes on. Just remember to take the proper measures and WASH YOUR DAMN HANDS. I see people wearing masks, keeping social distance and still scratching their nose after touching the surface of a foreign object.

We've discovered that there are very few areas/situations that can lead to true mass contamination and spread. Very few. This is one. Avoid it. Don't do it. I just......I don't get it. The sacrifice situation is at an absolute minimum here - bars, inside, close contact.

One of those scenarios would be cramming 100,000 people into tight quarters to watch a football game. another 20,000 or so on the outside drinking, mingling, and yes.....going to bars

This is a ridiculously bad analogy.

ABSOLUTELY

Okay, name me an instance where society shut down for such a long period of time in the last century.

This won’t help my area at all. These folks get tanked any and everywhere lol.

This is completely ridiculous. We’re a country full of pansies. If you have comorbidities stay at home and don’t go to large gatherings. If you’re a healthy individual you should be able to resume life as normal. Droplet type infections are nearly impossible to prevent the spread of. This disease is no more deadly than the flu. The number of hospitalizations should not be the focus. The number of those in I U and death per infected are the only numbers that matter. I’ve had two patients 86 or more hrs old who had it and recovered fine. Didn’t need to be hospitalized by the way but due to age they were for observation reasons. They’re both at home with their family.

Once beaches and other recreation facilities reopened is when we saw a spike in the numbers and why we continue to see it climb.

As long as beach chairs are separated and the pool is closed I don't think beaches are as much problem as bars and restaurants. You can go to the beach, carry all the things you need, and never even have to go out.

I mean, if beaches are a problem then the protests and riots were way the hell worse.

Time tells all, but college football is looking ominous at best. Clemson has 37 players who have now tested positive. LSU is starting to seriously trend that way.

Even the best teams can ill afford key players missing games. This feels like all of us will have to get used to this on a weekly basis. Now try to imagine taking the field, in any game, without coach Saban?

Aren't they all asymptomatic?
