Hope the game is played. But LSU should have to forfeit if the game isn’t played. Regardless, LSU fans can celebrate about no losses or whatever but this year is a win. Not hard to imagine how big of a blowout that would be

It's quite funny watching their joyous reaction when you consider how insane they went with the FL/LSU postponement a few years ago

From the Tiger Rant:

quote:

I’m a student at LSU with friends who work inside the office. Sounding like a likely scenario is that the Bama game is rescheduled in place of the Ole Miss game, Florida is still played on 12/12, and then LSU-Ole Miss will be played the day of the SEC Championship.

don't we have a game that day already?

it's probably way too late, but maybe they could go ahead and play the Iron Bowl this weekend. Maybe even on Sunday, for an extra day to prepare?

The odds of this being rescheduled are super, super low. Just too many moving parts now. FL/LSU having already taken that 12/12 spot pretty much cements it.

The only chance is if they move OM/LSU to 12/19 and Alabama/Arkansas to 12/12

mostly, LOL.
But, I see where there could be a window by moving LSU Ole Miss to 12/19

Yep. I just don't see it happening.

Would love to be wrong, though.

Well, I think it has to be played. Think about it, if we lose a game and end at 8-1 while A&M ends at 9-1...they go to Atlanta. So, in abundance of caution they need to reschedule the game.

No official word yet and we are getting close to the make or break. I think they are going to wait and see how many test positive and are quarantined.

Alabama-LSU game postponed due to COVID-19 issues for Tigers (BOL)

quote:

... Per the SEC, because LSU has a game tentatively scheduled for Dec. 12, the opportunity to reschedule the Alabama at LSU game will need to be evaluated. The rescheduling of games on the remaining SEC football schedule may include Dec. 19 as a playing date...

The Alabama-LSU game wasn’t the only SEC game affected by the COVID-19 pandemic this week. The Auburn-Mississippi State and Tennessee-Texas A&M games were postponed due to positive tests and subsequent quarantining of individuals at Auburn, State and Texas A&M. The games between the four teams have been tentatively rescheduled for Dec. 12...

Best Resheduling Option:

Option-1: Move UA @ LSU to 11/21 by moving UA vs UK from 11/21 to 12/12 and LSU @ AR from 11/21 to 12/19. LSU @ UF stays on 12/12.

Option-2: Move UA @ LSU to 12/05 by moving UA @ AR from 12/05 to 12/12 and LSU vs OM from 12/05 to 12/19. LSU @ UF stays on 12/12.

Note: Option-1 is best. It keeps the UA @ LSU game next after the current prep for it. Also, Option-1's road games on 11/21 & 12/05 are much better dates for UA than Option-2's road games on 12/05 & 12/12 preceding the SEC-CG. Travel increases risk of players getting covid.

I assume after this week, all SEC teams have had their bye week leaving no scheduled open weeks

Really disappointed that the REC didn't force the SEC's hand here and make LSU play the game
