He might get a shot with an NFL team next season. Good football player, but if you never go to class, you can't play in college. You don't have to be a genius, or even intelligent, to stay eligible, but you do have to go to class. Even if they sit in the back and fall asleep. He couldn't even find the motivation to do that. Pretty pathetic really.

Yep, he wouldn't have been signed by both tOSU and Bama if he didn't have talent. Maybe he'll finally grow up and make something out of it.

Ha, I doubt that would ever happen, considering how BB and CNS are from the same coaching tree. I'd love to hear Saban giving his opinion to BB.

Dang, now I see why AJ went to bat for him (allegedly), LOL.

It really is. Like most schools, we have a football player major, and you dont even have to sit in the back of class to go to sleep. How stupid/short sighted do you have to be?

Not really our strong suit
John Timberluck
quote:
-Five-star athlete John ‘JuJu’ Smith of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly took his first official visit, to Ohio State, this past weekend. He’ll head to Notre Dame and Oregon in October and then go to Alabama and Michigan in November. Smith, who prefers playing wide receiver, could make his decision in early January at an All-American game. Smith told 247Sports that he will base his decision on most of all the Christian life on campus as well as academics and the program’s tradition. Notre Dame, along with Alabama, are the front-runners going into the official visits according to sources.

I’m looking for a school with good academics and a place that has a very strong tradition. The main thing I’m looking for is the Christian life on campus,” - JuJu Smith, 5-star ATH, Long Beach Poly

-Four-star offensive lineman Damien Mama, the nation’s No. 2 guard, will take official visits to Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Alabama over the next six weeks. Distance is a major factor in this recruitment which helps USC and UCLA. This could be a recruit the new staff at USC is able to keep home come this winter.
quote:
??Look for Tyler Luatua of La Mirada (Calif.) High to opt for Notre Dame over Alabama, where his brother Issac Luatua plays. He has upcoming official visits to both schools.
quote:
“All of the coaches at Notre Dame are good to me. I’d be a good player there and play as a true freshman,” - 4-star TE Tyler Luatua, La Mirada
quote:
Alabama currently has the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class. The already loaded group could get even stronger as crystal ball projections to Alabama were made Sunday for four of their top targets: C.J. Hampton, Charles Mosley, Laurence Jones and Abu Lamin.
quote:
1- Ricky Town, 5-star QB, Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure
Early, solid commit to Alabama. Andrew Luck meets John Elway with a splash of Justin Timberlake. Nation’s top QB prospect.

“Alabama has a business-like mentality. They have an outstanding atmosphere to be part of and play in. I feel like its the perfect fit for me,” - Ricky Town, 5-star QB, Ventura - St. Bonaventure

I have a really good feeling about Bama landing Laurence Jones.

Lucky picked Abu Lamin to Bama today

Abu Lamin thing isn't good news for me. That must mean that Matt Elam isn't coming and for me he should be top priority.

Elam was never coming here. He grew up a Kentucky football fan of all things, spends every weekend there, and has bought the bill of goods their staff has sold him hook, line, and sinker.
He might regret his decision when they move him to OG after his 4th practice though.

I don't believe this is true. From what he has said, yeah Kentucky has lead but he has been open about coming to us.
Unless he says something different, I have to go with what I've seen.

Abu is a DE whereas Elam is a NG, correct? I don't think one has anything to do with the other. I almost posed the question yesterday why we weren't going after more DE's in this class with Stinson and possibly Pagan leaving and so many 2nd and 3rd year DE's not yet able to earn a spot in the rotation.

Lucky said that he predicted Lamin to Bama because his initial pick of Lamin to Florida was incorrect. He already has that pick wrong, so why not try it again and hope for different results? He said that he has heard some things, but nothing definitive.
He also said he has been wanting to pick CJ Hampton to Bama for awhile, but wanted to make sure that the pick didn't make his percentage fall below 80%. The CB would automatically count his pick of CJ to Bama as wrong because he is currently committed to OM.

Thanks for the explanation

From I have heard, there is a good chance Jaron Johnson is part of this class at DE. He is a juco who signed with UF last yr but did not make it in.

Yes. Sorry. In the office 3 things at once.

I thought you had to be at a Juco for 2 years?
