He's definitely a project more than a plug and play. I think his best natural position though is jack or Sam in a 3-4, not every down DE
I agree. I was more concerned with his demeanor than him actually getting beat tonight. Strengh, size, and passing skills are easily developed with an athlete like him. Toughness is a lot more difficult to develop

5* guys, a lot of times, aren't really pushed in high school. I think that's a trait that can be taught once a guy is in practice with a bunch of dudes that don't give a shite what he was ranked.

Pretty pumped about Sims. He is for Bama what Kwon Alexander was for LSU. State school had him lower on their board. Out of state power had a good eval and took him. Never regretted it. I think we will all be glad for this take in two years.

I agree bg13 he is so damn physical he will be a mauler even in the SEC level will get inside a DB fight for his position and I loved the quote O read about the reason why he loved Bama so much was how truthful to him about where he was on the board and how that motivated him...that's a football player

I watched Carter last night. My initial thought was negative because I tuned in about 3-4 minutes into the game and missed the intros and then had a tough time picking out which player was this alleged 5* stud. Not a good sign. Then, when I did ID the kid failed to see any fight or desire for contact - at all. Please, Bama, pass on this kid.

This. Some kids don't go hard all the time because, well who is gonna stop them from doing whatever they want? Get to a team full of former 4 and 5 stars, and 3 stars who soon prove why they should have had more stars, and that mentality changes quickly.

That isn't necessarily true. Most of the time characters like that will cave because the environment and yesterday he just seemed overwhelmed. I'm not saying he can't get past that or develop some fight, but yesterday even when this OT was talking smack, following him from side to side, etc he still was getting beat.
Regarding the two commits from Camden:
- Kalvarez Bessent looked decent, did get beat early in the first quarter (pass was poorly thrown) and he isn't afraid to come up and make the tackle.
- Chris Williams is a commitment I don't get. He's suppose to be a safety but he started and primarily played most of the game on offense as a wingback. When I did see them finally move him to safety (around 3rd or 4th quarter can't remember) he got beat for a touchdown. Not a good look.

I know. I wasn't talking about anyone specifically, I was just making conversation.

I still want Carter because I'm a star gazer
But I certainly won't be crushed if we don't land him
Like others, I like Evans more but I'm thinking he'll end up at AU or UGA. Might be done at OLB with Miller and Holcombe plus we've got Mekhi in the next class

Carter will be ok depending on what system he in. I agree with Ystar on C. Williams I watched and I very unimpressed. I think he will be a guy like Nick Perry. He will never start but when he becomes a Junior or Senior he will get minutes.

I'm watching Ermon Lane and I see nothing special at all. He is tall and he has straight line speed (nothing special in the speed department).

3 catches for 21 yards in the 1st half. They're attributing it to him being nicked up on the opening kick-off but that's weak IMO

Yeah, not impressed with Lane at least in this game

Those stats get me pumped, but my question is what kind of competition is he facing? Is it 2A,3A ?
