USCe and FSU.

Are you talking about the article Bone tweeted an hour ago? I couldn't read it but a USCe fan responded to the tweet dating he'll look good in garnet and black which caused me to raise an eyebrow. If we miss on Marlon that'll be for me, the biggest letdown since I started following recruiting two years ago.

The link in Bone's tweet was a radio interview with Marlon. Its not premium content...
Marlon Humphrey - Playing with the Best!
ETA: He did say Alabama is currently at the top of his list. But he wants to check out some other schools, and track is important, even though it will be a tough task to do both sports.
Its a good interview, he is actually serious for a change.

As long as Bama sticks to their word about letting him run track, Bama should remain the favorite. I see him easily picking FSU if they do not hold true to their word, he is serious about running track.
I think they fudged Bo's height in that interview, he measured in at 6-1, not 6-3.

If he wants to go somewhere else, let him. The program is bigger than one recruit.

sure, but it would be better to get him and just let him run track. FSU gets alot of good recruits that way, espcially speedy guys like DBs. Our track program is on the upswing lately, so hopefully Marlon can be part of that. Plus training for track just makes him faster

Bo Jackson did fine without track in college.

And being a 2 sport athlete in college worked pretty well for Bo too

Kizer to Notre Dame as expected

This is about how important track supposedly is.

Whats Bones update on Robert Foster?

Does South Carolina even have a good track program? I know Alabama has new facilities for track and field, as well as the program being on the rise. But is South Carolina any better? That would mean that two of Humphrey's three finalists don't have a long history in track and field.

JC Schurbert switched his Hand prediction to Bama

Really? Hopefully it comes to fruition, but I don't have high hopes.

I just switched my Hand prediction to affirmative.

And football isn't the only sport in the athletics program. Rather than barring a pretty damn good track athlete, better than anyone who considered 2 sports under Saban, you could help out the program by letting Humphrey run for a track team on the upswing.
Bama has already told him he could, so it's nothing to argue over unless they change their mind...

South Carolina has a great tradition for hurdlers in a track. I assume that Curtis Frye is still head coach.

From the USCe Athletics site:
quote:
Entering the 2013 track season in his 17th year as head track & field and cross country coach at South Carolina, Curtis Frye has established a program that is regarded as one of the nation's elite. Frye has coached or overseen over 60 NCAA champions, 115 SEC champions and more than 435 NCAA All Americans.

JC's response
Tim Watts,Trevor Hewett and Charles Powers all crystal balled him to Bama 20 minutes after Shurburt doing it.
quote:
That strategy only works a few times before people catch on and start discounting his picks.
JC- Based on sources. Have shared everything with Steve Lorenz. I'm not divulging exactly what I was told (it's nothing sinister but Crystal Ball isn't a news report) but he can back me up as to why
quote:
I don't doubt Bama will be in it until the end, but unless JC's got some new info that none of the other insiders have, this strikes me as more of a "gut feeling" pick than anything else. I think it'll come down to UM/VT/Bama, and he could really go to any of those places.
JC- More than a gut. Remember I was the first to say VT. Was in my best interest not to switch.
