@EdwardLewisBSR: #UCLA has landed a commitment from four-star JUCO OT Jermaine Eluemunor.

That sucks. I think they landed Dominick Jackson a few days ago. The big ugly pool is starting to dwindle

yeah, 2010 sucked hard. top 5 classes that contain dee milliner, adrian hubbard, john fulton, cj mosely, jalston fowler, arie kouandjio, deandrew white, jarrick williams, brian vogler, nick perry, austin sheppard, brandon ivory, dequan menzie, cody mandell, deion belue (the first time) are the worst

Yes, compared to our other classes that class absolutely sucks. Dee and CJ would be great in any class and Hubbard has had his ups and downs. Everyone else you mentioned has been mediocre thus far

then you better not watch next season cause that is a significant chunk of our starting lineup and major contributors (minus dee of course)

A lot of them are corners and o line.....the two weakest parts of our team for next year. We'll be ok because of the strength of our other positions.

How anyone can get upset about people complaining about using precious scholarship spots on a kicker considering our past takes is beyond me.

That being said, our prior evals are not the fault of Bobby Williams. Very few, if any, special teams coaches actually know kicking and can coach it. They are primarily coaching only coverages, returns, etc. Almost all schools utilize a national kicking coach and trust his evals, those that host these camps. I do not remember the name of the guy we've used in the past, but he steered us to Corey Smith and Cade Foster. He obviously sucks.

Johnny Dwight, Matt Elam, and Ricky Town are 3 out of the 5 Top Risers by 247 Sports for the camp season.

The article says Elam will move into the Top 50 in the next ranking update.

They brought in some expert to work w Mandel and Foster. Mandel has been great since. Foster has been slightly better.

But BW isn't great at TE development or any of that either, and he's not a good recruiter. He must make great coffee

Which has better odds of being true:

1. Saban has a blind spot for a coach and keeps him on board despite the fact that he's incompetent, or

2. Saban has information about BW's worth that posters on this board don't have?

I'm not a big fan either of giving scholarships to players at positions where we can get solid walk ons, but Bama has the depth across the board to give them. If the staff feels this kicker and Mazza were worth spots, I'm for it. Something has to improve with ST's

Our class has 11 people (including Bozeman)Only 1 of our current commits isn't in our positions of need. Another Corner (Marlon) Pass Rusher (Carter) NG (Elam) a elite tackle (Robinson,Mavety,ect..) and this class will have it's biggest needs filled with spots and time to be picky. Other staffs are scrambling and will be until signing day to fill it's positions of need,Bama's staff will have 90% of theirs before the season starts.

People might not be real satisfied with the caliber of players we have committed at this point, but unless you have camps where you watch these kids in person like Bama, all you have to go off of is rankings a group of analyst who didn't even play college ball have came up with before these kids senior years of football.C Williams could be a high 4 star 2 months from now and SDH could be down to a c cup before his senior season.

And fwiw, Justin Hopkins has Damien Mama going to Bama. I believe he's 247's best west coast guy

thats what im finding so crazy. the same people complaining about taking special teams players on scholarship and saying we should be using walkons are also complaining about past special teams performance. Does anyone really think Saban has had better players available as walkons and is not using them just to play scholarship guys?

I just don't get how idiotic some people are. How can you complain about offering special teams players scholarships, wanting to use walk-ons instead, and then turn around with a straight face and complain about special teams play?
