Can someone tell me how we are doing with Donell Stanley? I saw on ESPN that they said we lead for him but 247 said South Carolina.

Nice. We stacked at ILB every single year.

Hope we get him, I think we do.

-Feel good about the two JUCO OTs, Eluemenor and Mavety. Eluemenor has the higher ceiling, but Mavety is better right now.

I've personally yet to watch either of them.

Zach Whitley is gonna be a good player for us.

-Marlon Humphrey is fast.

How fast?

quote:

-Grant Hill set the Alabama state record for the discus and has the best throw of anyone in the country this year. He also ran the 1600M in a little over 5 minutes at 300 pounds. fricking man beast.

Are we gonna play him at Guard or Tackle? That's the question.

-Nussmeier has evaluated Cornwell, Chryst, Kizer, Park, Tyler Harris, and Brandon Harris in person. No one can commit without throwing at camp. No one.

Sounds good to me.

Isn't Miami about to get hit by the NCAA?

CNS talked to Elam and Charles Mosely on Skype today. Sounds like he stopped just short of telling Mosely that he's our top target

I was just asking about him too lol. Kid is electric after the catch...I will say it again, he looks like Sammy Watkins to me.

I really hope we land this kid!

I think we can all assume that seeing how the dominoes fell after Whitley's committ went public

Alabama offered 5-star QB Deshaun Watson from Gainesville (GA). Nation's Top QB. @ShaunWatson4

I thought we offered him a while ago

We still extend offers to solid commits if they're good enough. Never know what might happen down the road

Is Whitley better than Trey Williams? personally I would rather Bama sign instate kids when they are of equal talent to an out of state kid. State Pride, keeps the locals happy and helps on future kids that are top players. Plus TW seems like a very good kid. Maybe he would be Au even if we didn't get Whitley, IDK.

Same scenario for Roc, by all accounts that I've read he is a outstanding RB and I know we are trying hard for LF and I guess if we were to let Roc commit it might look like we're conceding LF or it might be the final nail pushing him to LSU, which I think he's basically a lock for anyway. I know with what we signed last Feb we are stacked at RB and need to picky.

My point is there are some really good instate guys this year that it seems we are turning away by slow playing them for out of state kids that may not be appreciably better. I don't want Au to get any momentum instate, yes they will sign some instate players regardless of what we do but Every Year I want the majority of the great instate players at Bama. I just don't like Au getting more of the top 10 instate than Bama.

It's hard to argue with the recruiting methods this staff uses. It has worked beautifully, but I would much rather take an in-state kid. Even if he's just a little less talented.

Whitley comes from a high school in Houston that produces a lot of talent (DeAndrew White attended it). There's something to be said for opening up pipelines in other talent-rich states too

I'd take a 10/10 from North Dakota over a 9/10 from Alabama every single time. I love this state, but you play to win the game, not cater to feelings
