I may be wrong but I don’t see us doing much this year in league play . If we are hot from 3 we are fine but we do not have one guy who can get on the block and get us a bucket when threes are not falling ... it is all 3s and put backs

I think the generous explanation is he's trying stuff in non-conference play and the rotations will be tightened up starting vs Ole Miss.
The other explanation is we're fricked.
Bruner 30+. No need for Rojas and Reese with regular minutes. Ellis, Primo, and somebody else (Reese, Rojas, Gary, etc.) off the bench get substantial minutes. Maybe 9 guys on certain nights, but rarely 10. It's all fairly simple really.

For supposedly being so in love with analytics and regurgitating kenpom, HD Intelligence, etc., you’d think his lineup and minutes allocations wouldn’t be head scratching so often.

I'd be trying harder to convince myself of this if the stupid lineup decisions were limited to games like tonight and JSU. He does dumb shite like playing Quinerly and Shack together and allowing Reese on the floor against the good teams we play too though.

My thoughts - Primo and Ellis need to get 25 minutes each. Ellis does a lot of things well. His shot is smooth and with more minutes I think he only gets more comfortable. He can get in the lane but looks to dish first but also can finish. Primo had some early TO's but I think with more time and maturity he will be a stud. Shack needs to just plant himself at the 3Pt line. He is deadly from there but completely clueless when he goes into the lane. More times than not it's a TO or offensive foul. And if he gets fouled his FT percentage in 3 of the last 4 games has been 50% or lower. We are still the worst fast break team in college basketball. Gary has potential - is at least active. Reese is useless and should get 0 minutes. Agree with Cobra on Releford disagree with Mistaken on Wimp. Loved him as a coach but he is equally bad a color commentating. If this was a normal SEC league (and who knows at this point) this team is bottom third from what I have seen 8 games in.

So for real though, what the frick happened with Petty and Rojas? I've seen the rumors, but given the current climate I really see no way the rest of the team would have been willing to play for Oats last night if there was any truth to them.

I agree. If they were true 100% none of the other players would have played.
