Well he just seems to have NBA potential. But with the injury, that ain't happening.

So I thought it might be a possibility.

Bruner can go overseas and play. I mean I’d love to have him back. But with all the injuries he’s had to to his knees, if he can go somewhere and play for money, he should probably do it while he’s healthy enough to do so.

If he wants to play basketball for a living he'll have plenty of opportunity to do it in Europe/Israel. His game is built to play 8-10 years and make good money.

Today we are rooting for the Gators and for ETSU to upset UNCG in the SoCon semis.

Yeah Bruner is going to have a pretty good pro career either in Europe, coming off the bench in the NBA, or some combination of the two. He will go undrafted most likely, but the more analytic minded NBA FOs will be interested in him.

With FSU, Nova, Ohio State, and West Virginia losing, feels like our floor is now the 7th overall seed. Not sure who can finish ahead of us other than Gonzaga, Baylor, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, OSU. Maybe Houston but our resume is so much better than theirs at the moment

I’m rewatching the game and Darius Miles played really well defensively when he came in in the 1st half. Dude is gonna be a big time player for us his Junior/Senior year and should be a solid contributor next season

One of my bold-ish offseason predictions is going to be that Miles averages 18+ minutes next season and 10+ ppg.

With a Yale degree, I doubt money is a concern. He does have a sister who played professionally overseas, so that could be an enticement.

Yeah I think things will click for him over the summer and he will be able to play under control enough next year to warrant the minutes. Physically he's a future NBA wing and he has a lot of dog in him.

Miles is a very, very intriguing player.

- he's got very good defensive instincts
- he's an impressively long strider
- he's got a very smooth stroke from deep
- he's REALLY long
- he's a perfect "will get better" guy who you get for 3-4 years

Oats has to be thrilled about the swiss army knife stuff he can see in Miles's future.

Finally getting a whole offseason of learning the defense and more skill development will help him and really the whole team.

Miles has some really great tools. He has a chance to grow into a player that can give us ~85% of what Herb can do defensively and ~200% of what Herb can do offensively.

I mean I don’t see how that happens unless we have some injuries or he plays the 4.

JD, Shack, Ellis, Quinerly, and Primo will take up all the minutes at the 1-3.

Can only imagine what imagine what Cooper and some of the Grant/Avery guys would be doing in an Oats offense.

Jamychal Green and Donta Hall are the two that immediately come to mind.

If Bruner wanted to play overseas, he could have done so this year.

It seems obvious he extended his college career to get drafted.

So I'm not clear on why he would change his strategy now. He's getting world class medical and rehab support and is on a higher profile team. And he is clearly not back to 100%

So I would think he would either retire from b'ball or stay here.

We definitely had some guys in the Grant era who would have thrived with Oats. We had a lot of hard working kids with some offensive tools who just didn't get any better over their careers.

Just think of the group from 2011-2013

- JaMychal Green
- Tony Mitchell
- Scenario Hillman
- Trevor Releford
- Levi Randolph
- Trevor Lacey
- Rodney Cooper

Now, there would have had to have been some "breaking" of guys - JaMychal was notoriously sulky early on and Trevor Lacey had some serious lazy arse vibes (and we all know about T-Mitchell....) - but I think we've seen Oats can work through that stuff. Grant, to his credit, worked through it with JaMychal.

Randolph and Cooper would have been fantastic players for Oats. Great guys, hard workers, good defenders, would have become very good 3-PT shooters (Randolph did anyway).

So, 21.8 ppg 6.2 assists? And hopefully that's 1.4 TO, and not 5.6 per game.

kidding aside, Miles is going to be fun to watch develop. He's definitely got tremendous physical potential. Just raw as sushi right now. I can see why Oats is excited, and gets him in to the game whenever the risk is low.
