I was here for the Avery/Grant years. I think this team is different, we didn't collapse in February for one.

My gosh, I was waiting for it. I’m trained for it I 100% want to enjoy this, an I credit the players for playing their hearts out.

I’m truly at the, “ I can’t believe we are 21-6” stage. My gosh, we sucked in December. I wanted to slit my throat. I truly want the tournament to become a yearly thing.........

Alabama Men's Basketball NCAA Tournament History

What if we took readers back through the decades for a little trip down memory lane? When did Alabama has the most postseason success in March, and what’s the top finishes we’ve seen?

(More of a summary than an article)

As a prime "Shack is crazy in transition" guy, I'd like to note that he had 2-3 great transition possessions yesterday where he did a hard stop and passed it back to a trailer.

One of them ended in an open 3P make, I believe.

honestly guys, i watched bama fall behind uga yesterday and my brain jumped forward to the dance. where if we run into a lil mid major or worse, thats shooting lights out, we'll get beat, early. i so hope this is just past failures on repeat in my head, but i'm not gonna be surprised if it happens. the sweet 16 would be sufficient for me, this year. better than that would be icing on the cake.

From behind enemy lines of the Bama-Georgia game

DAWGS CANT RALLY BEHIND INCREASED HOME ENERGY

quote:

However, that was not enough to overcome a spectacular offensive performance for Alabama in the second half. The Crimson Tide offense that Georgia saw in the first matchup between these two teams finally awoke. Alabama shot 63% from the field in the second half, including 8-of-10 from behind the 3-point line. Jahvon Quinerly led Alabama with 18 points and John Petty Jr. also scored 15 points.

Lengthy AP overview of yesterday’s games. I must say I prefer the “Alabama storms back” headline to the “Alabama recovers” headline that is so prevalent

Alabama storms back from deficit; Illinois beats Ohio State in Dosunmu's return

quote:

In Athens, Georgia, Herbert Jones had two baskets in a 9-0 run to open the second half that gave No. 8 Alabama the lead, and the SEC champion Crimson Tide beat Georgia 89-79 on Saturday.

Jahvon Quinerly led five Alabama scorers in double figures with 18 points. John Petty Jr. had 15 and Jaden Shackelford finished with 14.

Alabama (21-6, 16-2 SEC) matched its school record for Southeastern Conference wins in the 1986-87 season. The Crimson Tide will take a three-game winning streak into next week’s SEC Tournament in Tennessee.

Georgia (14-11, 7-11) led by 14 in the first half but couldn’t maintain the pace. Sahvir Wheeler led the Bulldogs with 18 points. Freshman K.D. Johnson had 16.

I’m rooting like hell for Ole Miss to get that 7th spot for the SEC. I think if they win 2 games this week they are in.

I think the SECt is so much more intriguing when their are bubble teams playing.....as long as we ain’t one of them

Shack can be frustrating as hell sometimes with his decision making, but he absolutely brings it every game. Even with a sophomore slump from beyond the arc this year, he finds ways to score around the basket. No matter how ugly, he scores.

All that said, I think Oats was ready to supplant his fist into his face 1000 times with that decision to take it to the basket with a less than two minutes left on the clock up 6.

Has it been shown that the committee has taken a decent conference tournament into their decision?
I feel with 68 teams, waiting around to decide whether to put Ole Miss in or any other bubble team would end up requiring too much reshuffling of the bracket to make it worth it.

When it comes to bubble teams they 100% consider and use conference tournaments.

For everyone else the hay is pretty much in the barn.

I’m rewatching the game and Darius Miles played really well defensively when he came in in the 1st half. Dude is gonna be a big time player for us his Junior/Senior year and should be a solid contributor next season

Doesn't everyone on this team get an extra year of eligibility?

Any chance Bruner comes back?

Doubt any of those guys are coming back.

All can make money playing professionally if they so choose and Herb and Bruner have had tons of injuries during their collegiate careers.

Not to mention all our roster moves have been made with them being gone as part of the equation.

I would say Bruner is the only one who might possibly return and I would give that a 30% chance of happening.

I could see Reese using his extra year and maybe GT somewhere

If Bruner came back, it’d be his 6th year in college. I see no chance or reason for him to come back.

Yeah and he has got a degree from Yale so he may want to start a career if basketball doesn’t work
