So I would think he would either retire from b'ball or stay here.
I think the most likely scenario is he plays either overseas somewhere or in the G League next year.

I just randomly think sometimes how tickled to death I am that we have a coach who does all the things that I used to get so upset about for the last 20 years
- we run a specific style and we do not vary from it
- we develop players
- the coach is brutally honest and doesn't make excuses
shite is like a dream

Yeah, I didn't necessarily mean from a counting stat per game average standpoint. Miles is a much better offensive player right now than Herb was at this stage. As long as Miles learns to take care of the ball a little better (Herb is still pretty turnover prone as a senior) and continues to improve his game, I don't think it's crazy to think he can be a better overall player on the offensive end than Herb.

I mean I don’t see how that happens unless we have some injuries or he plays the 4.
JD, Shack, Ellis, Quinerly, and Primo will take up all the minutes at the 1-3.
Well all of those guys besides JD are currently on campus, they all play a lot of minutes already, and we are losing Petty and Herb's 58 combined minutes. There will be playing time available next season. Also, Miles has the length to play the 4 and probably will play a lot of it just like Herb has this year. But he also handles the ball well and shoots/drives like a guard. He's basically a prototypical point forward who can play 1-4 and run the offense.

Ala, Ark, Tenn and LSU have lost a combined 5 games outside quadrant 1. That's crazy.

I know George posted it on a previous page but I can’t find it: what are the seed scenarios for a Florida or UT win?

Very true. Though I don't expect him to take a point forward role in the offense. But, I didn't expect Herb to either. But it's still more out of necessity. Because we don't have anyone I'd consider a true pg. Just a shitload of SGs and combo guards.

Basically we want UF to win imo.

I don't see our roster as using a traditional 4. I mean, we have Gary, who is only listed at 6'6", playing the 5. So a traditional 3 would probably play 4 for us and our tempo.
I definitely don't see Primo ready for the 1 spot. He's still having problems playing with the ball. Though it seems less like a talent/potential issue, and more if a confidence issue. But with Oats continuing to keep him in, hopefully the game will "slow down" for him, and he starts playing efficient and confidently. Because he definitely has NBA potential. But as the secret got it about his shooting, and teams zeroed in more, he took several steps back in play. Getting him back to January play is going to make a huge impact on our teams ceiling.

Yes but JD will be taking all of Petty’s minutes.
My guess would be
JD (29 mpg)
Shack (28 mpg)
Primo (25 mpg)
Quinerly (20 mpg)
Ellis (18 mpg)
That’s all 120 minutes at the 1-3 and I’m already stretching the positions a bit playing Quinerly at the 2 some.
I don’t see how he would take any of their minutes. He’d have to play the 4 to play at all.

Miles can play the Herb role. He is gonna get serious minutes next year. Our 4 is a Guard. We play 4 out or 5 out all the time
I would love to see a lineup of:
JD
JQ
Primo
Miles
Tchikou

Miles is more of a traditional 2 no? He’s pretty skinny.
Gary is pretty well built and has great defensive instincts that allow him to play the 5 successfully.

Oh Primo is definitely a 3 IMO. This off-season will be huge for him.

Our offense is not very traditional. Herb starts at the four for us. Miles can easily play 1-3 for most teams and 1-4 for a team like us.

I view Primo more as a 2, but he can definitely play the 3 as well.
