Gary. 0 pts. 5 rebounds.
I can’t say anything negative about Gary. He hustles and plays hard. I really wish we could get a productive post player. Imagine Robert Horry in this system.

Anyone watching this Texas St vs App St game?
All of that was crazy.

Was just about to comment on that.
Martinez had a Laimber-ish side to him.

Didn't say he didn't hustle or play hard.
I complemented him quite a bit after the MSU and Auburn games.

For sure. I'm hoping that the philosophy behind it makes/will make more sense with better finishers at the rim like a JD Davison as opposed to Shack. I feel like a guy like Kira or Collin would convert a higher percentage than Shack currently is and JD can can play above the rim better than any of them.
I emphasized that, because he literally plays above the rim. He's only 6'3" (perfect pg size), but he gets his shoulders well above the rim even he jumps. I'd love to know his official vertical.

As a team, Colorado is shooting 83.4% from the FT line on 450+ attempts
That's a team capable of since tournament upsets. They'd be a tough draw for a lot of teams. Hell, we might be in Truckee against them with Doug Shows refereeing.

Was that the dude who rolled his way up Robert Horry’s leg trying to hyper extend his knee, resulting in Horrypopping him a couple of times and getting kicked out of a tourney game?
Just saw this. He and Horry hated each other. Every time they played against each other, it was a brawl. A major reason why I didn’t like the prick. Horry was always my guy.

Never thought of Horry as a dominant post player. I always thought of them is more traditional wing. Now McDyess, seeing him playing the 5 in this system would be cool. Maybe even Richard Hendrix. Since there are very few true 5s anymore, those PFs would be great in an uptempo, post to kick out type offense.

Would have loved to see McDyess is this system.

I wasn’t condemning you at all. Your post just reminded me of why I like Gary. I agree that we need more production from our bigs. We needed it last season as well.

Horry was a shot blocking fool, at Bama, but I can see why offensively, you didn’t see him as a post guy.he was more comfortable facing the basket. As a young guy, Horry was my hero lol. Wimp used to piss me off because he would be suspended or in some kind of trouble all of the time

Sorry. Misunderstood your post.
Love his heart.

It’s ok, it’s easy to do on a message board. I really do wish that Gary could get more of an offensive game though
Robert Horry Alabama stats.
He was good. Used to have to defend Shaq

I was 9 when he graduated. So my memory of Horry begins in Houston. And that was of him fricking up Orlando in the 94/95 Finals. I was at game 1 of that Orlando/Houston finals. It was the first of many epic disappointments courtesy of the Magic.

I'm just glad to get 8-10 minutes of him hustling his arse off. But at only 6'6", you'd think he'd have a touch more finesse.

This season has been amazing but my brain has been so conditioned after 30 years of abuse that I’m still waiting on that this is Alabama Basketball moment. Hopefully it never comes
Seems like most Bama fans are thinking this way. From reading this thread most days it's like most think that we are an average team that got lucky and played good for a month and are gonna face plant at any second.
Basketball is an up and down sport, teams don't go undefeated like they do in football. Even the really good teams in college basketball lose games and go through stretches where they don't look that great.
We are a really good team, you don't go 16 and 2 in conference and be in contention for a 1 seed in March if you aren't really good.

I’ve been a fan since before your were more than likely born. What you’re saying is true, but you can’t fault people for “gun shy”. Wimp never made it past the sweet 16, and he had some great teams. Regardless of the fact of basketball being “up and down” us long time fans have been mentally tortured

Oh yeah I know, I don't blame anyone for feeling that way. I know we have been mediocre at Bball for a long time.
I think the Avery/Grant years are what have most gun shy, under both we seemed to collapse at the end of the season. We haven't always done it, Gottfried made the tourney 50% of the time and of course Wimp was really good.
I was here for the Avery/Grant years. I think this team is different, we didn't collapse in February for one.
