They did the trade at 3:55pm but missed the trade deadline of 4pm because there were celebrating. Cincy was able to sent there's in on time.

I bet he was relieved.

Bless their fans’ hearts but I’d do everything in my power not to play for that screwed up organization.

Browns were going to give up a 2nd round and 3rd round draft pick for him.

If I were the Bengals. I would be so pissed off. Now, McCarron is in the final year of his rookie contract and Cincy will walk away with nothing to show for it at the end of the year.

ETA: Also what in the hell are the Browns thinking. They are what 0-8? Why not just make a run at him in the offseason? Afraid no one will come to Cleveland unless it's a trade?

Where would AJ go as free agent? Arizona?

Who knows. My wet dream would be Pittsburgh. Big Ben is getting old.

Sounds good to me. Some folks claim AJ hasn't done anything, well duh---he's been on the bench most of his time in Cincy.

This is such a browns thing to do. Watch AJ end up on another team and be a probowler.

Dude, the l6u fans would flip out. They already think MI is the worst running back in the game.

Being QB for the Cleveland Browns is the sports equivalent of the doctor telling you that you have inoperable Stage 5 brain cancer.

AJ dodged a huge bullet.

His potential career with the Browns would have been a season and a half going like 2-18 (at best) and then being discared and out of the league.

Good. That's what they deserve. Should have been playing AJ a long time ago.

I still think he would rather be the starter at the browns than a backup at cinci. He could use the rest of this season as an audition to get a big contract at the end of the year.

There's an equal argument that right now he's going to get a contract based on what he's done with a good Cincy team. Playing half a year for a terrible Browns team has the potential to LOWER his contract's value.

It is an interesting discussion for sure, and I would love to know Mccarron's unabashed thoughts on the matter.

It looks like this isn't all on the Browns. The deal sent over to Cleveland, by the Bengals, for approval wasn't what was discussed. So the NFL would have voided the deal anyway, with no time left to agree on a new one.

I could see McCarron ending up a Jaguar after this season. They need a smart QB who limits mistakes in a run heavy offense. I think AJ is the guy for that job.

It would free up having to spend a bunch of draft capital to move up for a rookie QB/unknown quantity.
