After 2 games anyone surprise you with how good or how poorly

They have played?
Talty is getting the kicks much higher and straighter. Our guy kicking off is getting great distance on the kicks.
RB play between the tackles seems to get better as the game goes on.
A couple of our DL are explosive. Thompkins comes to mind\
Our white MLB is excellent
A little surprised KR struggles with "composures" issues. The two INT's were horrible throws. Not reading the D well enough at times to see they are bringing the house.
Rico is playing great. 1 had a better game
The TE's are great in the run game.
Sorry it is taking a while to figure out all the names. I thought we would have more INT's with our experience in the DB room

Really surprised at how the offense opened up last week in first half. Looked pathetic. Surprised at how good the defense looked but they will be tested this week in the run game.

Punter, kicker, Talty, Edwards, griffin, Taylor, Woodson, Metz, QB, Macdonald, Meadows(blocking), Caleb Edwards(blocking).
Also, I’ve liked Tyrell Millers blocking in short yardage. He seems mean and I like that shite

I think we have some very talented players.
They showed a very good team attitude and confidence after going in down at halftime. No panic. Just a desire to come out and beat the other team.
Wommack looks excited along with our defensive players. I'm looking forward to this especially if we can help by controlling the ball on offense.
Our DB's are talented. Just need to look back for the ball and not blow assignments.
The offense is learning what we need to work on and improve. There's potential to be very good. The QB and total offense is gonna only get better as they gain experience.
Very important we stay healthy. That may be as critical as everything else.
Overall it's gonna be an exciting year. I want to win them all but we gotta beat a few rivals for it to feel like we're moving forward.

I knew Thompkins was big and athletic, but I didn’t realize how athletic and how skilled he was at getting to the quarterback. I’ve said it before, but if he stays healthy, he’s a first round pick in the draft. 6’5” 300 pounds and athletic enough to play on the edge.
Trae’shawn Brown is another one that has pleasantly surprised me. He might be as good or better than Crowell. I think he needs more touches. Unbelievable quick feet.

In year 1, CKW allowed just 17.8 ppg (top 10 nationally) while simultaneously producing the 3rd most turnovers of any defense. That was the fewest by a Bama defense since 2017.
In year 2, they gave up the 2nd fewest yards per game in the SEC (top 10 nationally). Also, was the fewest allowed since 2017.
Now in Year 3, CKW actually has the size/mass to run a 3-4 Under and the versatility to slide to a 3 and a Shade.
What the defense is doing should not surprise any one in the least bit.

I assumed Thompkins and Woodson would be competent players that contribute positively, but the fact that both of them look like potential gamewreckers alongside Pierre who we already knew to be one has changed my perception of the defense's ceiling quite a bit. The front 7 the last two years was pretty good, but that's all. Just not enough difference makers.

CKW has been using a 3-4 Under on 63% of snaps since the Vandy debacle year 1, as opposed to only using it on 8% of snaps while at South Alabama and almost playing exclusively a 4-2-5 1-gap scheme defensively.
Since that transition during year 1, he was unable to field bigger bodies that actually fit an Odd-Front and are capable of 2-gapping.
This offseason CKW was finally able to offload Collins, Smith, Keeley, and Renaud and replace them with lots of size/mass in T.Greene, Bingley-Jones, Thompkins, etc.
Many fans saw this as a sign of panic or thought we were “losing” these 275-290lb DL to other programs when in reality they were making room to bring in bodies that actually fit the scheme they have been running for 2+ years now.

Good: Talty has been much more consistent, Hill's quickness, the LBs, all the new guys, and the ability of the defense to actually look mean - the last couple of years there were a lot of games where they would be in position to make plays but let the offensive player dictate the contact. This year they are swarming better and flat out hitting.
Bad: The inability to line up and run a pass play. The best pass plays always feel like busted plays or a quick pass to RCW. I thought they'd be able to hit more open plays down the field. Hopefully that is not wanting to put everything on film just yet, but it feels like that's going to be an issue all year.

I am not so surprised because I knew we would be solid, but they look like wreckers and gang tackle. I know it is early but replacing our two inside backers had me concerned just against teams that want to test that against us- and we have yet to really see that. Metz and #0 look good. Playing safeties up to compensate for inexperience at inside linebacker I don’t love when you face a competent qb and luckily fsu doesn’t have that but if they commit to running and then work in play action to help that’ll be something to watch but luckily our defensive backfield is deep. That’s why I think Kane is so good with his interior d lineman strategy. Offense has got to keep the defense off the field though overall.
