We also might replace less starters out of the starting 22 than anyone in the entire league this coming season (which is wild to type), so we were in need of transfers less than almost anyone else.

Pretty safe assumption. However, he may want to get into more of a spread passing offense after seeing the numbers Ward put up this year.

It likely has nothing to do with either. Kirby wants to keep his QB room healthy, taking Beck back for a sixth year coming off a UCL tear doesn't do that. Guys behind him transfer, Beck might never throw the ball anywhere as well as he used to
It's a win/win for both parties. Beck gets a year to rehab/recover his draft stock since it's going to be deflated with the UCL tear while making 4M. Kirby can pass the torch to Stockton/puglisi who has 3 years of eligibility

I don't know how Stockton will ultimately play out but UGA would have been stupid to pay Beck even half that.

I’m sorry but Beck (at least this season) seemed to have absolutely back breaking turnovers at the worst possible times. I cannot understand paying that goober anything.

I think Dline is fine, not the best we have ever had but should be plenty good to compliment what we have in the starting LBs and the secondary

Russaw seems like he could be a great edge rusher. I thought he played well down the stretch. Pierre has got to come along too. I think we're fine on the strong side edge. We've got 5 guys who could play "bandit" on the roster now. Some of those guys are probably going to play DT in long yardage situations.
So, yeah, wolf/weak side edge is the depth issue. Better hope that this DE signee out of JUCO, Kevonte Henry, is ready to go and productive.
