He was fantastic last year. Pitched for Augusta, Rome, Mississippi, Gwinnett, and then made his MLB debut.

April 7 marks the day the Braves begin the quest to defend their 2021 World Series title, and Max Fried is the guy who’ll lead the charge.
The decision came down to either Fried or Charlie Morton, a pair of frontline starters that had both earned Opening Day starts, in 2021 and 2020, respectively. It was a difficult call to make for manager Brian Snitker, who has kept the pair on the same schedule for most of the spring to allow for the option of either earning the honor.
Tough as it may have been, Snitker was quick to recognize that it was a problem Atlanta was fortunate to have.
“It’s kind of like when we had [Greg] Maddux, [Tom] Glavine and [John] Smoltz,” he said Sunday. “You can’t go wrong with any of your choices."
In the end, Fried will get the ball on Opening Day when Atlanta opens against the Reds at Truist Park.
It marks the second consecutive Opening Day nod for Fried, and he’s certainly earned the honor. After a 6-5 record and 4.71 ERA to kick off the 2021 season, the 28-year-old lefty steadily gained steam and had MLB’s best ERA (1.74) in the second half to complement an 11-3 record.
“We can't go wrong with him or Charlie,” Snitker said Wednesday following Atlanta’s 10-7 loss to the Red Sox at JetBlue Park. “It's just kind of, Max has pitched some really big games for us in his young career, and it just kind of seems like a nice honor to bestow on him.”

Unrelated but Kelsey got a job with the Rockies. I miss her, she is much better at her job than Kelly IMO.
Also unrelated her BF looks just like Dansby

Luke Jackson more than likely headed for TJ surgery.
Hate it for him. After years of me bitching about him and Snits unrequited love for him he actually turned into a solid pitcher last year

Braves first five starters
Vs. Reds
Thurs. Fried
Fri. Morton
Sat. Wright
Sun. Anderson
vs. Nats
Mon. Ynoa
All will start w/ at least one extra day of rest. Anderson fell back one spot because his March 24 scheduled start was rained out. This is how the adjusted schedule fell.

Stinks so bad. Hate it.
There was a time I cursed his name nightly. No more. Long live Luke Jackson and the Nightshift.

Anyone going to be at the games vs the Padres in May? We got tickets in infinity club and staying at Renaissance by waverly. It’s what I did last year and it was great. each ticket barcode was good $15 worth of concessions last year. Hopefully it will be this year.
Anyone recommend any other sections to try out? I’ve only been once and sat in 229. This time 224. I’d like to try some other areas though.

I think we are using the season tickets for 1 of the games that series (edit - yep, Friday night game which is Glavine Bobblehead night).
I normally just sit in our season tickets in 426, but the other places I've sat that I really enjoyed were
- The short corners down the lines (36-42 and 135-143 3rd base; 10-16 and 107-116 1st base). Views are great, you are right on the field, not quite as expensive as the seats that low down towards the dugout/home plate
- The Hank Aaron Terrace is awesome, but you have to do a group thing to sit in there (my firm does it a few times a year)
- If you are without kids and it's a nice day just watching a game from the Chop House is pretty damn good if you get a spot to stand on the front. Especially an April/May or September day game when its not scorching hot
As anybody who has been to games in that stadium knows there truly isn't a bad seat in the whole place. It's a great place to watch a baseball game.
My office is in the Galleria right there next to the Waverly (across the street from it in the building with the Racetrac sign on it). The walk to the Battery is very, very easy over the 285 bridge. We park in my office lot and walk over for all the games we go to (which is a lot). And we do it with 3 kids (1+ yr old in stroller, 6 and 10 year olds) - they don't think twice about it.

Thanks for all the input. I’m going to check out some of those areas this year.
I’m jealous that you work right there. Seriously that is pretty awesome. Last year was my first trip over and I was amazed at how easy and stress free it was staying in that area and walking over. Jeez if I worked there I’d have to walk over pretty often. Even if I wasn’t going that night I’d walk over to the Battery and eat and watch.

They really did an incredible job. I was pretty lukewarm about them building the park out there because of traffic and the area being out away from city center and stuff, but they absolutely nailed every bit of it (including traffic).
And yea - the office being that close is awesome. Me and some colleagues bought season tickets that first year in the park (2017?) and have kept them since. 4 of us bought a set of 4 and we just have a draft and split them up. It comes out to like $700 per person, which is not bad at all, and we get to buy all the playoff/ASG/etc tickets. The parking situation with the Galleria is a huge plus because if we had to pay for season parking it would basically be another $700 (the only downside of the whole deal over there - parking is so expensive).
But yea - it's awesome. My kids have now basically grown up going to 12-15 games a year (took them to Game 3 of the NLDS and Game 3 of the WS last year, too).
My wife laughs that I have fulfilled both of my little boy dreams - having season tickets for the Tide and the Braves . She is not wrong.

Holy crap, it’s only 700 per person? Is that a corporate deal or something?
I’ve paid more than that for a trip each time with 3 tickets and a room. Jeez.
I grew up my first 6 years in Auburn and my dad had Braves season tickets he kept until I was 10, I think at Atlanta Fulton stadium. Wherever it was it was some of my best memories I still have till today. You’re doing a good thing man those will be great memories forever for your family.
Like you said they did a tremendous job with everything up there. I was blown away at how easy it was.

Nope - I mean we got that rate locked in in 2017, so it may be like $800 now. But 1 season ticket in the 400 section is $740 or something. We are on the 3rd row right behind home plate. It's the cheapest season ticket in the stadium but they're great seats.

We're very blessed to be able to do it. I, like you, have vivid memories of ballgames with my dad as a kid. It's great that my 2 girls truly love baseball (and softball) like I do/did as a kid, so it's made it a great shared experience for us. Plus, being in the same seats around the same folks every night is really neat for me but really for them.
And it helps that it's such a great organization and fun group of core players.

That’s awesome man I’m glad for you that you are able to do it. You are right that you are blessed. You’ve done a lot of things right to be in the situation to be able to do it. I’m happy for ya man. I’m going to look next year for season packages.

The inside is still closed. You have to order online and eat it outside or take it to go. Might be a controversial opinion, but their brisket is just as good as Fox Bros to me.
