I had to look it up. Completely forgot that Jackson Stephens signed with Alabama in 2012 before being drafted by the Reds.

The guy that caught Judge's 62 home run ball and his wife.

Some guys have all the luck.

I know the Braves get the Phillies/ Cardinals winner but Scherzer just got run in the 5th giving up 4 homers and 7 runs. Down 7 -0 to the Padres. Mets may get run before playing th Dodgers.

I'm fine with it... Max and Degrom could get hot at any moment, and facing them twice in a series is a scary proposition for any team.

If deGrom doesn't pitch well today, and the Mets lose, that will be just about the most Met thing ever to have Met-ed.

Mets are 3-6 Scherzer's last 9 starts
Mets are 4-4 in DeGrom's last 8
You hate to see it.

Strider agreed to a six-year, $75 million deal that includes a $22 million option with a $5 million buyout for 2029. Without the extension, Strider would have been eligible for free agency after the '27 season. The 23-year-old right-hander has pitched just two seasons above the collegiate level, but his incredible rookie season gave Atlanta confidence to make this commitment.

And the salary is very backloaded. $1 million in 2023 and 2024, $4 million in 2025, then $20 million in 2026. Be funny if we added deGrom next year to go with Fried, Strider, Wright, Morton, and a rehabbed Soroka, though I suspect getting the SS position nailed down takes precedence.

It would have been nice if our ace had pitched like one today.

Just awful.

His game 6 start in the World Series made up for it last year, but Max is a postseason choker.
