Saw this on the MSB regarding Jansen:

quote:

Mets fans are thinking “hey maybe he’ll throw so many pitches he won’t be available tomorrow” and Braves fans are thinking “hey maybe he’ll throw so many pitches he won’t be available tomorrow”

I wish Jansen would get a high ankle sprain midway through that retarded windup of his and fall and roll off the mound and off the field, up the tunnel and out the door to anywhere but Atlanta forever. Guy has one pitch and its not good.

Well, here we go. Jansen back in to pitch the 9th with a 2 run lead.

Heaven help.

He made it painless some how. Man a win tomorrow to win the season series against the Mets basically wraps it up, but we still would need one more win or Mets loss after that. Huge game tomorrow. Going to be fun.

Let's give Jansen credit where it's due. The cutter was nasty tonight. He was the Kenley of his prime tonight.

We really need Morton to come up big tomorrow. This is the spot Strider would normally have pitched. Bassitt is a handful. Will be another tough one.

On a good note, the Marlins announced they are shutting down Alcantara for the season tonight. So we won't have to face that monster in the final series.

Let's go fellas, big one this evening.

Just win today!

Mets have 2 non-singles in the series. Not shabby from the pitching staff.

It's the end all for the Mets. If they lose today the Braves would need to drop all 3 against the Marlins and they would have to win all 3 against the Nats to win the division. They know they aren't good enough to get through a wild card, and likely back to back series with Braves and Dodgers without homefield. Hell they are 2-4 against the Padres this year before they got Soto (granted they have their arms back). We could still pull it out with a loss and I would love to see the Mets choke it away against the worst team in the NL East but winning to night makes it so much easier moving forward.

This is the game I've felt BY FAR the most uneasy about when I heard the pitching match-ups. Bassitt has been so good this year. And it's really been a rough go for Morton.... especially with the home run ball. And just as I type this, McNeil hits the second HR of the game for them. And we'll probably have to face two innings of Diaz tonight. Ugh.

Really don't trust Morton and don't know why they resigned him for next year.

Great at bat by D'arnaud. He had Bassitt stressed.

Jeff McNeil looks like the bad guy from Rookie Of The Year if he had taken meth instead of steroids.

Does anyone have a clue why Grissom is not the DH instead of Ozuna ?

Or Contreras. Your guess is as good as mine.
