Well, Former Ole Miss Coach Hugh Freeze Landed A Job as Liberty's new coach
Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports
Former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has a new job...

There were rumblings of him maybe going to Tennessee to run their offense, but it looks like he went with a head coaching gig instead.

Remember that Liberty's AD is Ian McCaw, who was forced out at Baylor over the rape scandal. A few months later he ends up at Liberty.

Good for him. I always thought those accusations leveled at him were a bit trumped up. Glad to see him land on his feet.

It's a Christian university, founded by Jerry Falwell. Is that irony?

No. It's business.

How rich...A self professed Christian, branded as a liar and a cheat, lands the HC at a Christian School. Praise the Lord, and pass the BMW's. Just win baby!

Fits. Philandering preacher type goes to a "Christian" school.

Honestly asking but was there ever proof he actually philandered as you say? I know he doesnt know what a burner is but was it for him or recruits(not that it matters...just wondering)

I initially assumed it was for recruits. That was the logical conclusion. But everyone else seemed to think it was for him, and a couple of his public statements seemed to hint at that, so who knows?

Didn't Liberty have a pretty good season? Did their coach get fired? Lynchburg could use a few more good restaurants but overall wouldn't be a bad place to live (unless you were single).

Their former coach, Turner Gill, retired.

I'm fine with any SEC school hiring him, but it is very inappropriate for Liberty to hire him. Second chances, forgiveness, etc are all essential aspects of Christianity, but a Christian university should also only hire people with great honor and can be a legitimate role model. Very poor choice by Liberty.

Eh. On the list of schools with admins that seem genuinely Christian, Liberty always seemed pretty far down the list. Liberty is as much a political school as a Christian one.

That's a very high-and-mighty opinion to have. It is also my opinion that some of the best and most devout Christians (both outwardly and in private) have been people who have done dishonorable things. Not saying that is the case for Hugh, but who are you or I to speculate?
