After my son committed suicide, I educated myself on young people and depression. The numbers are staggering and there are none of the old fashioned "warning signs" when it's young people. Somehow we have developed a huge gulf between ourselves and how young people perceive things. Just my opinion from a father who has been there and never thought of my son as soft.

I discovered him a few years ago, it's some pretty fascinating stuff. I have 5 of his audio books that I listen to every night. If you use a VPN you can find them in torrent form for free. They might answer some of your questions and maybe ease a little of your pain. LINK
