Eagles Players 'Had to Be Held Back' from Doug Pederson After He Pulled Jalen Hurts
© Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports
It sure looked like Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson chose to tank Sunday's game against Washington when he pulled QB Jalen Hurts in the 4th quarter. The move ticked off everyone, from fans and people in the league, to even his own players. Some of whom tried to confront him about the decision on the sideline...
quote:

Remember, Pederson pulled his rookie QB in the 4th quarter in Sunday night's matchup with the Washington Football Team ... despite only trailing by 3 points.

Hurts was replaced by Nate Sudfeld -- and according to the Inquirer, "many" Eagles players and coaches were "shocked and outraged."

the report says, "Two defensive players had to be held back from approaching Pederson."

The report does not name those players -- but notes that two other players, including center Jason Kelce and another starter, "went to the coach to ask him why he had pulled the starting quarterback with the Eagles trailing by only 3."

I see the future. Peterson gets fired in 2021.

I always say, if you depend on someone else to make the playoffs, then you get what you get. The NYGs should have won more games, then not worry about a team that had nothing to gain playing.

Should have been fired.

Maybe he pulled him because he was 7 for 20 with a pick.

Yeah, the guy who hadn’t taken a snap in his four years in the league was a better option

Philzila, he may have been trying to get a spark bc the guy who’d been playing the last several weeks wasn’t doing it. Look at LSU starting a freshman(who never started and had trash minutes when he did play)at QB on the road in the swamp. That new sparked worked wonders for LSU’s last two games.

Giants should have won more games rather than depend on someone else. frick them, I’m glad he did it. Typical crybaby bullcrap: depend on someone else.

Hurts was 7 - 20 for 72 yds. He should have been pulled sooner.

Hurts is garbage, how exactly is benching him "disrespecting the game" Tua got benched in multiple games this year but no one said anything about it.
