He’s a significant name for a fair number of potential upcoming recruits and would add to the brand.
The only real concern should be him calling Fran Brown a “bozo” (true) over the whole walk on/scholarship situation.

Clemson will probably not be that good next year but they’re still physical than most. We’re playing 9 SEC games + Clemson, it’ll be very difficult to get to 10-2.

AT is probably a good GM, Glasscock is just better. Not like Ole Miss hasn’t assembled good portal classes when AT has been there or that we didn’t last year.
Feel like it’s still missing some PROVEN top end premiere talent on both sides of the line. Wilson/Princewill and or Seaton would change that.

It’s silly to expect anything that’s been done at Indiana to be replicated anywhere else in the immediate future without loads of cash being involved. The top of the B1G was just as good as the SEC (even better i’d say while discounting what the bottom half of each conference was) this year and Ole Miss is a far better job than Indiana pre Cig. Lane is a great coach and probably top 10 with some recency bias but to expect us to legitimately compete with a roster full of cheap transfers is laughable.

year 6 vs year 2…Lane was absolutely the right man for the job but we don’t have to be massive homers.
Lane isn’t Cig or he’d have done what Cig is currently doing with even better resources at Ole Miss than Indiana. if Cig wins monday night he’s probably generational.

Miami just got to the natty off multiple difference makers on the DL. This dude would likely be as good as Mesidor and better than anyone but Bain on their DL. Where did you get Baker only calling plays for 4 years from? He had a season at Miami (2019) where he did in fact call plays, plus his Missouri and current LSU tenure in addition to LA Tech. I know it’s mostly semantics but isn’t it closer to 7 seasons?

Yeah comparing stats against similar opponents for a guy who played for a G5 vs SEC team is silly to say the least. I’d rather Chambliss anyways but Mestemaker would not be a bad pickup.

I’m assuming you’ve never heard of AJ Brown? DK Metcalf? Both are having down years but they’re pretty good I’d say.
Hell even Laquon Treadwell had a nice long career despite being a bust. It’s not like Ole Miss doesn’t put WRs into the league, just not as often as an LSU/OSU/Alabama
