Lane Kiffin is reportedly hiring former Baltimore Ravens quarterback coach Tee Martin as an offensive analyst on his staff, according to Jordan Schultz.

Martin won a National Championship at Tennessee in 1998 and got into coaching in 2006. He previously worked under Lane Kiffin as USC's wide receiver coach from 2012 to 2013.

Martin has spent the past three seasons with the Ravens, working with quarterback Lamar Jackson.

You don't leave a position in the NFL to be an "Analyst" in College. (Unless you're asked to leave by the NFL team)

Well you do know the Ravens HC was fired, right? Which results in a new HC bringing in his own staff... kinda like whats currently happening at LSU.

He's a better college QB than Peyton Manning.

I think this is an insurance policy in case CWJr bolts for a HC job or the NFL. Tee has been coaching 20 years - has P4 OC experience (USC 2016 - 2018) and has reasonably been everywhere and done everything for an offensive coach, except be the head coach. Now, he does change jobs about every other year, on average, so there's that.

So you think a guy who hasnt been an OC in 8 years is the backup plan?

No, but a possible bandage if something happens during the playoffs, need to buy time to make a full search, etc. That's why I used the words "insurance policy", not a backup plan. Actually, Dane Stevens is probably the "backup plan" at OC and then Tee can move into QB coach. You wouldn't object to that backup plan, I suppose, would you?

I would. I imagine if that happens lane would handle the play calling.

Mobile QB's are the future and Lane doubling down. The days of watching the LSU QB hold hold get sacked are over.
