Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is now expected to return to Oxford next year if he is granted another year of eligibility, but spoke with ESPN on Monday on whether he considered following Lane Kiffin to LSU. Per On3:
quote:

“I mean, I guess, but not really,” Chambliss said. “I mean, I knew that was right. And you know, I always had trust in, you know PG, and you know Coach Judge. And you know I gotta give thanks to coach Kiffin, coach Weiss as well for giving the opportunity to play that Ole Miss. But I know, I knew that this was the right choice.”

Chambliss opted to stay with Ole Miss as long as his waiver for a sixth year is granted. But speaking with ESPN host Matt Barrie, he was again asked if LSU specifically was a possibility.

“Like I said, like I guess so,” Chambliss said if LSU was a possibility. “But you know, at the end of the day, I just made the right decision, and that was, you know, to stick with my gut. And you know, Ole Miss has been good to me, and I feel like I owe it to Ole Miss. And you know, I just love it here, and I love the community, so that was, you know, the right choice.”

He seems like a good kid. Personally, I believe had he already been granted a 6th year definitively, he'd be coming to BR. But LSU simply can't postpone their QB recruiting process while the NCAA toys around with everyone involved.

Most players college and pro predicate what they say with "you know", "like", and "I mean". The difference here is it was all quoted.
Also, a player staying with the team is not a bad thing. Most of us agree the portal is a problem, right? I will chuckle a bit if he doesn't get the waiver for now though.

Who knows if he gets his waiver, but this dude wasn't given a choice. Not only did OM dangle that $ in front of him, they hired the lawyer to petition the NCAA on his behalf. It all came with strings attached. If given the extra year, he had to go back to OM. He's a gifted athlete and he's smart, but he never had a choice to go anywhere else.

Sorry Chambliss but you are making the wrong decision here. If you weren’t going to follow your coaches to LSU, then the NFL was definitely the other best decision. You just made the worst possible decision out of all the choices. Good luck with Golding I guess.
