That's kind of the point - he hasn't been recruited by any other lower tier schools so what does that tell you. I live in Minneapolis and I can tell you the fan base is fed up with him and they aren't even 5% of fanatics we are. Horrible track record at recruiting, he loses top in-state talent to North Dakota. When his time is up he'll go coach a MAC team, he is definitely not SEC caliber.

I don't see how this ruins BK more than LSU, all BK did was suck as a coach - and frankly what does he care, he's going to take his millions and ride off into retirement. LSU on the other hand looks like a dysfunctional mess. LSU will be stained with how they handled the situation after they fired him. Just pay him what you owe him and move the F on.

When every news outlet is reporting on this it shines a light on LSU’s hypocrisy - Stating they didn’t fire Kelly, and now claiming they intend to fire him “for cause”. it really exposes how deep the dysfunction runs. It makes LSU look foolish. You’d think the university would at least consult its own law school before releasing public statements that completely contradict their current position. What LSU is doing isn’t legal posturing, it’s deception and narrative manipulation. If a business acted this way, it would be sued for libel. At this rate, LSU might end up paying Kelly even more if they keep going down this path.

Agreed. What LSU is doing right now will have lasting consequences on its ability to attract top coaching talent. For better or worse, the university is setting a precedent that says LSU won’t honor its contractual commitments. Why would any quality coach trust a future agreement if a single bad season could lead to the school manufacturing “for cause” claims just to avoid paying out a contract? In the business world, that kind of behavior would destroy your reputation and make it impossible to recruit top talent. Shame on LSU, just admit you made a mistake by offering such an egregious deal and move on.
