Travers Mackel of WDSU reported that the majority of Brian Kelly's buyout is expected to be paid for by a single private donor.

Kelly was fired on Sunday after LSU's disappointing loss to Texas A&M on Saturday night, dropping the Tigers to 5-3 (2-3 SEC) on the season.

Unless LSU and Kelly can agree to a reduced buyout, Kelly will receive a $53 million buyout.

Even if I had $10B in fairly liquid holdings, I would have hard time justifying paying $25mm+ to some a-hole to not coach again so that some other assholes could overpay another coach next year. Sounds like a broken system that I would not want to throw money into.

Nice. The very wealthy individual wants to be private with the buyout and the internet refuses to let go. Lol

Louisiana has two of the largest privately held contractors in the country, plus one of top 250 private equity firms in the world sitting within a 10 mile radius of Tiger Stadium.... Cane's ain't the only game in town.

They need to put this donor’s name on the football facility building or something similar for his or her tremendous generosity.

Great use of money. It’ll really benefit the school, students, and state. Your money, you can do what you want with it.

Tell Woody he’s fired for lack of oversight again with another FB HC! Can he not just put a 1:1 once every 2 weeks on the books to check in? It’s not that hard to keep a pulse on your $100M investment! Lazy
